i5-4*** actually has better benchmarks than FX-6300.

But still, FX-6300 is still a great budget build :)

Intel's Mid/Low-end processors are faster than AMD's high-end.
I would take an Intel Dual-Core over an AMD Quad-Core.

However, GPU's outstripped CPU's long long long long ago in terms of yearly performance increases, there seems to be a massive focus in reducing gaming CPU loads via Mantle, Direct X 12 and OpenGL improvements going forward.

The irony of it all though is that the 4 year old Phenom 2 x6 1090T is faster than the FX 6300 at the same clock, that's for sale today.

I have an FX 8320 in a second machine, I'm aware of how poor the FX chips really are, but with that in mind it does offer "Good enough" performance for most people and because they are heavily threaded they start to hold their own when running a heavily threaded game and say.. Xsplit in tandem, they just don't receive the same performance penalty.

AMD FX Processors doesn't have an integrated GPU/APU on it o.o

I'm aware, but what's your point?

Is this a joke?
The title says "Monster PC". All I'm seeing is

Last last gen CPU with last last last last gen power
GPU that is a few steps under high end
painfully overpriced RAM
midrange cooler
ridiculously over sized low quality PSU
mainstream SSD

It's a good, functional and almost cost effective build but it is so far from a "Monster PC" that it made me write this post. Please don't tell me someone actually recommended this build to you.

What...?

You silly person, looks like someone doesn't know the lastest amd cards

Terrible at reading is what I am

For the GPU I count at least 2 steps below high end, completely ignoring crossfire builds.

The CPU can't even handle Intel CPUs from 4 generations ago.

I stand correct.

Nice build, but damn that's one bulky case... for my tastes, anyway :P

Do you have pics of your cable management? And how does that FX6300 compare against an i5? Because I'm planning to upgrade soon.

Yeah, it's a fairly big tower but I wanted it that way. Easier to switch part inside the machine, plus I really wanted a red case.

Cable management with this case is excellent. My camera just ran out of batteries so can't take a pic but I assure it's very convenient. You have several tunnels that go into the back area of the case where all cables are nicely stacked together. In the main space of the case there's your usual couple of cables that "obstruct" somewhat, like the power cables to the motherboard, the PCE-express cables and such. Airflow and conveniency is excellent though.

I think an i5 is much faster for desktop tasks but in gaming, even in RTS games and other CPU heavy games like Skyrim, under high quality graphics settings it's only 10-15% faster, tops.

What do you currently have for PC?

Well just don't forget to give us pics of the insides of your rig later ;)

Right now I have a Conroe Pentium Dual Core @3Ghz OC, 5GB DDR2 800... and a GeForce GTX760, of course.

I can't decide if I should go AMD or Intel. I could get a FX6300 for about $137, a FX8350 for about $208 or an i5 4440 for about $216 (all USD). And all the MB for the AMD's are cheaper. Not sure if Intel is worth the premium.

If you are building an micro atx or mini ITX build, then Intel is clearly the answer because they consume less power and their smaller motherboards kick the living crap out of AMD's.

However if you are going ATX then:

$500 build = 6300, $750=8350, $1000+ = i7.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

All I can say is litterally everything you said is incorrect.

CPU I agree some what with since it can't even compete with the sandy bridge high end i5s (I believe) but GPU isn't last last last last gen power unless that is worded weirdly (or I read it wrong) to which then I agree with... I think what he might be going for is that AMD's Mantle tech where the CPU bottleneck doesn't really matter if you have a high end GPU but I do agree with spending this much and not getting an intel CPU

Don't forget that AMD cards scale much better with multi GPU setups such as crossfire.

The FX-6300 is as stronger as the weaker i5's, and the FX-8350 is inbetween an i5 and an i7.  You are very mistaken.  Also that GPU is equal to a Titan, so yeah it isn't exactly weak people...
