It is kinda obvious. I have an Ipad 4 which just goes back to the home screen with no notification once in every few hours. It is on IOS 6 because IOS 7 was much buggier from what I have seen from friends (this article supports that). Though I rarely use a tablet so I don't feel the need to change it. In the mean time, my Nexus 5 never crashed on me since I bought it. I was a Galaxy S owner before and the progress speed of Android is really mindblowing.

Yeah, iOS 7 was not as polished as it should have been. Update to 7.1 if you haven't already and you should see a lot less crashing and a less glitchy, faster interface.

OP neglects to mention that Crittercism is funded by... Google Ventures.

Android is the least stable (major) mobile OS without question. iOS and Windows Phone 8 are about tied in stability

Not for the latest version it seems.

Android master race it is then ...

Sony finally released their custom version of 4.4.2 kitkat. Liking it a lot and my battery has also seen some improvement. Now i can go for more than a day with full brightness, 4g, and even bluetooth to sync with my smartwatch 2

I thought IOS 7.1 is not out for Ipad, and 7.04 is the latest? I didn't update to 7.04 because my friends' tablets really crash a lot on that version.  I don't really follow the updates though lol. If it is indeed out I'll update it today then.

I can say that if Google was behind the research though they wouldn't mention Samsung as the best of the bunch.

I work with mobile devices every day. Android is absolutely not more stable than IOS. It's getting better but it's still got a lot of quarks that IOS simply doesn't have. It boils down to preference, but for the things I use my phone for, I'd prefer an Iphone hands down. (And I'm about as anti-apple) person as you'll find.

They should look at glitches too, not just crashes IMO.

Didn't look into it. However, testing so many phones/OS varients... seems like raw data doesn't lie.

I have peeps with every phone type. I hear/see as many issues from then regardless of the phone they carry because I'm their nerdy tech friend/family member. Fact is, anything can and does have issues.

From my personal perspective, my last two Nexus phones have had FAR less issues than anyone else with any OS. I definitely had many with the Android 2.3 Samsung Fascinate years ago, but then I went to Galaxy Nexus that quickly gained Android 4.x. From the on its been seemless.

That is really what this article is saying about Android. The versions since 4.x are simply more stable and overall better than anything else.

Then you need to take into account the android skins from each OEM. I think they all have flaws that simply don't exist in the vanilla version. Which is why I stick with Nexus.

I'd be willing to bet any of you who talk of personal peeps with android issues have low-end phones they got for free and are never Nexus. People upgrade to latest high-end iPhone and then compare to low-end crap android. Compare to the same high-end new phones like Nexus, latest Galaxy/Note, latest One, etc. You'll have a different opinion.

7.0.x releases tend to target very particular bugs or security vulnerabilities. Substantial updates like 7.1 almost always hit iPhone and iPad at the same time.

And you should really update. There's a serious security flaw in early versions of iOS 7 that breaks SSL.

As for the Google Ventures thing, a conflict of interest doesn't necessarily mean somebody is acting in bad faith, but it helps if you're open about such conflicts so people can take a grain of salt and use their own judgement. Neglecting to mention it looks like you have something to hide.

My phone (which is android) is very stable. Sony and Google have done to make it like that. But iOS is still flawless in comparison.

You can't expect freedom and stability to go hand in hand
