Uncharted 2 was the best one by far.

Around the Network

1. Uncharted 3.
2. Uncharted.
3. Uncharted 2.

Liked Uncharted 3's Campaign and story
Liked Uncharteds Campaign.
Both were average in Uncharted 2 (game actually was a tad tedious until i think is it chapter 13 with the moving train? NOW THAT PART I LIKED)

Picked up Golden Abyss last month, snagged a trophy to check it out...... looking forwad to playing it some more soon.

So you run away from the debate when the results don't work in your favor?

3, but just barely.
the graphics, and gameplay were better in 3. and the multiplayer was/is awesome the best for any game ever.
2, the campaign and pacing and story were better, the mulitplayer was great but not as good as 3's much improved effort.
they are almost a draw, but the better multi on 3 pushes it over the edge, because of the endless replay value.

Man, people sure are divided on this one.

Well UC3 was better :)

Here's a breakdown about every single section in each game. Check out the variation when it comes to gameplay =>

SPOILERS FOR UC2 and UC3 BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

This list is at the very least 95% correct in terms of area 2 area. I have tried to be as correct as possible by checking on each section before writing it.

Uncharted 2's GAMEPLAY Pacing =>

I do love the beginning of the game. But halfway in and it kinda starts getting too much. Towards the very end: While it is the end so I can understand the need for more shooting, it is still far too much due to the middle parts being ridicilously high.

UC3 has about 200 less enemies as well and the length I felt was actually perfect and never led to any part feeling tedious to me which UC2 actually does (but mostly due to the variety).

Notice the lack of brawl, chase, "explore", setpieces and more in UC2. There really is 90% shooting and it makes a second run on UC2 very difficult for me personally because they dont mix it up that well.

Anyway lets get to the breakdown:

Wounded in train:

Platforming

Museum in Turkey:

"Exploring", platforming, stealth, shooting with tranquilizers, platforming x2, chase scene.

Borneo:

"Exploring", platforming, stealth, shooting, "exploring" cave, minor chase scene.

Nepal:

Minor chase scene, shooting, platforming, shooting, shooting, platforming, shooting, shooting, platforming, shooting, shooting, platforming,

chopper setpiece, shooting, platforming, shooting, shooting, platforming, little puzzle, "exploring" cave, huge puzzle, shooting, shooting,

carrying jeff while shooting, chase scene with elena, platforming, shooting, platforming, shooting

Train to Tibet:

Platforming & shooting/stealth x6 + setpiece (chopper) within a setpiece (train) really. Wonderful environment change. Boss battle in shooting. Some free ways to tackle a situation.

Wounded in train, the return:

Platforming, stealth/shooting.

Tibet village:

"Exploring" which slows down the pace wonderfully after the rollercoaster before it.

Mountains of Tibet:

Loads of platforming and "exploring". Shooting a liiittle in middle and more towards the end. Great change of pace.

Back to the village:

Shooting, shooting, shooting, tank chase, platforming, shooting.

Car setpiece:

Shooting & platforming.

The monastery:

Platforming, stealth, shooting, shooting, platforming, platforming, stealth, shooting, shooting, shooting, platforming, shooting, setpiece with bridge, platforming, shooting, shooting, platforming, platforming, shooting, shooting, shooting, platforming, shooting, shooting, platforming, shooting, shooting, platforming, puzzle, platforming, shooting, shooting.

Road to shambala:

Platforming x2, puzzle, shooting.

Shambala:

Chase scene, setpiece, shooting, platforming, shooting, shooting, shooting, shooting, shooting

Boss:

Shooting

Escaping shambala:

Chase scene, setpiece

________________________________________________________

And here's UC3 =>

________________________________________________________

London - Brawl introduced. Walk in streets "exploring", Platforming, Seeing jizz view, Puzzle, Killing w/Tranquilzer, Stealth, Shooting.

Colombia - Exploring museum, backstory!! (nothing ever made in UC). Following Sully by going through wonderful environments that REALLY help building the atmosphere of the game. Platforming. Chase scene introduced (UC2 only slightly had it and not in the same way).

France - "Exploring" jungle, platforming, puzzles, shooting, chase scene w/spiders, amazing setpiece.

Syria - Platforming. Stealth & Shootout depending on how you play. Chase scene from rpgs. Sniper killing. Tiny set piece feels here and there. Stealth & Shootout again. "Exploring" cave. Brawl with Cutter. Puzzle solving & platforming. Chase scene.

Yemen - "Exploring", platforming, chase mode that turns into brawl, puzzles, chase scene, shootout, slow walk out again -> "exploring", drug sequence, chase scene, short brawl.

Coast of Yemen
- Brawl, platforming, stealth & shoot x2, vertical shooting, more platforming, insane setpiece (racing to cruise) which is abysmal compared to the real setpiece. Overall shooting in this level had a ocean simulated giving a whole new dimension. Swimming also.

Once on boat:
"exploring", shootouts, stealth. GREAT setting that slows down after ballroom. Drake walks and disrupts the lightning, snapping a neck. Walks along the corridors... Interacts with environment. Im so immersed at this point due to atmosphere work, seriously. Grand finale setpiece ending that incorporates climbing and platforming with chase scenarios.

Airstrip at Yemen - "Exploring" how to advance, stealth (stealthd this fully), chase after plane, sick setpiece.

On plane - Slow crawl through ventilation. Brawl. Crazy set piece. Platforming. Shooting. Setpiece finale.

Rub al Khali - "Exploring". So immersed, I cared so incredibly much about Drake after what the game had given me.

Village in Desert -
"Exploring", platforming, shooting, horse introduced.

Caravan -
"Exploring" with horse, platforming, shooting.

Desert Storm -
"Exploring", stealth, shooting, platforming, puzzle.

Ubar -
"Exploring", Djinn shooting, chase scene, flashback chase scene, Djinn shooting x2, Shooting, some "Exploring", Shooting x2, Shooting to escape, Platforming, Crazy Setpiece.

Boss - Brawl, Platforming, Shooting.

As for story:

UC3 offers far more gameplay variation and leads to a more memorable adventure. It doesn't hurt that the story actually tells us something about Drake on a more personal level that really makes you feel for him. The entire desert sequence is a daring move by ND and the fact that they made you play it is brilliant. Before UC3 I didnt hold Drake as highly as many others might have. But when you realize just how difficult the past of Nate was, I couldn't help but truly connect and symphatize with him.

"Come in under the shadow of this red rock. And I will show you something different. From either your shadow at morning striding behind you, or your shadow at evening... rising to meet you. I will show you fear, in a handful of dust."

Drake is a mere shadow of himself. He lacks an identity and tries to emulate a legacy that is not his own. By assuming the fake identity of an heir to Francis Drake, he's given himself a deeper meaning with life.

Drake: "Sic Parvis Magna, it means... Greatness from small beginnings."

His obsession to follow in his trails puts everyone he loves in danger and in the desert, hes all alone while his desperate voice pleads and begs after Sully.

Marlowe: "You're nothing but a filthy, cast-off little beggar. You're not fit to touch these objects."

This makes the entire Drake we knew in UC2 and UC1 be somewhat of a lie or a fasade to protect himself.

Drake: "You're not trying to propose are you Sully? I mean I love you but..."
Sully: "Stop... Stop being a wise ass for just one second."

And the theme of deception throughout is awesome.

The role of Charlie Cutter. The organization of Talbot and Marlowe. Francis Drake deception of Queen Elizabeth. Drakes deception towards his friends and us, the player.

Uncharted 4

Uncharted 2, closely followed by Uncharted 3. Unfortunately while it was an amazing part of Uncharted 3, the cruise ship section felt like it was shoehorned in to expand the length of the game. It's why I probably regard the events leading up to and in the Desert Village as the best part in the game.
