Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Third party question/solution for people with Wii U's

I do agree but not everyone has a gaming PC or they dont want to play on a pc either... specially if all your friends are on consoles

But look on the bright side... Least massive amounts of first party developers aren't leaving Nintendo

Yes, playing on PC is nice, but he is trying to say that everyone can play on their current PC? It's not that easy. My laptop has a dedicated NVidia card and I can't play Metro Last Light not even on low (and most of people now have notebooks, so that's a problem). My desktop won't have problems with Metro, but I've spent a considerable amount on it to achieve that. And if you want the famous 1080p @ 60 fps, then you are in trouble. Believe me, most of the PC gamers that say that they can play everything on ultra at that resolution and framerate are simply lying.

I am not trying to say everyone can play "any game" with their current pc. Not sure where you are getting that from. I said that technology on the pc side of things has progressed faster than consoles and because of that even an average laptop with integrated graphics can play majority of big games available on pc. One thing to remember is that despite the whole "master race" moniker. Most of the big pc games are infact less graphics intensive and scale quite well. The examples would be anything from big companies like Valve, Blizzard, Minecraft, most other mmo's and moba games. Well if you have desktop, then it's even better and easier to upgrade.

As for Metro: Last Light. That game gives trouble to most pc's out there. I mean to run the game at its optimal settings you need a card (Nvidia Titan) that is more powerful than PS4, XB1 & Wii U combined. So, just can't have everything for the cheapest possible price.

Yeah, as a Nintendo fan that couldn't care less for most of what Sony and Microsoft produce, I agree. In the past, I got a PS2 to play all the many Japanese exclusives that platform got, but nowadays, between the current multiplatform trend and the increasing Japanese support for PC (not to mention handhelds here), I honestly don't see much point. Of course, my gaming budget is quite limited anyway, so I was never part of the target audience... (and I still don't have a WiiU...) Eventually I'll upgrade my PC for more than just gaming though, and take advantage of that.

For the record, there's a very good chance of Metal Gear Solid V coming to PC:

As well as Final Fantasy XV:

With even niche games like Killer is Dead, King of Fighters XIII, Deadly Premonition, Record of Agarest War, etc getting a PC release as well as a lot of what Capcom does, indies like Mighty N9, Recettear and Yatagarasu, and a few specific cases like Binary Domain, Naruto UNS 3, The Last Remnant, Revengeance, Ikaruga, etc, the will of Japanese developers to expand to PC seems to be there. And the more they use multiplatform engines, the easier it gets for them to do so.

Personally, I have to say that I'm not a fan of this "homogenization" that the industry is going through as I've always believed in the potential that exclusives have to be more polished experiences overall as well as taking advantage of specific hardware features, but since that's unfortunately where the industry is going, at least I'll take the good side of it...

I disagree.

My Mobile/Nintendo combination is serving me well. I get all of Square Enix and Capcom's offerings through it without the fuss of a real controller or actually paying for games. What could be better??

A PS4 is much better than a PC would ever be for gamers for $400

Gaming with a controller is more fun

The PS4 has excellent exclusive games already, and will continue to get more

...

The Wii U has concluded for me that Nintendo really has no business creating gaming hardware. They are still good at making games, and I hope they continue to rehash excellent new Mario, Zelda, DK, etc games for many years, but they really lost all respect on the hardware itself. Mainly due to how poor their operating system is on both Wii U and 3DS. They are just sooooo slow at everything and Wii U is also unstable on top of being slow.

I can't believe a machine with the parts the Wii U has isn't faster, but in reality it is slower than either X360 or PS3 which are 8+ year old at this point.

Indeed, the best combo is PC+Nintendo, no doubt about it.

I approve of this message.

Oh ok so from now on every nintendo gamer on vgchartz has a wii u and a capable pc. So when a third party game does not come to wii u, you can say you won't miss it because you have a pc and the game will look and run better than on ps4 or x1. Ok gotcha

Who says you can't play games on PC with a controller ? I actually use a PS2 one, through a USB adaptor. And my brother uses a 360 one.

Lots of people on this site already do this, for exactly the reasons you say here. I can't quite do this because Sony tends to get a few RPG's I want exclusive. Xbox is moving towards having all its exclusives release on PC as well, so I won't need one most likely.

I'd rather not miss out on JRPGs, exclusives and some AAA games don't even come out on PC, recently being GTA V and MGS GZ, which means PP probably wont and upcoming games like FFXV(I don't think any recent FF games except 14 have actually) and KH3, my most wanted next gen games.
