PS4 sells amazing, Sony fires a ton of staff. Makes sense.

I think this is completely separate from the other layoffs.

This is most clearly a feud between team members. He clearly left cause he was siding with Amy (probably came from Crystal dynamics aswell) and probably couldnt see himself working with the other people that "pushed" her into leaving.
I really think this is a case of too much award winning with "The last of us" bloating some egos and having those guys push around their weight. Sony and the gamers lose though, cause Amy is an amazing developer.

He says he made the decision to leave, you assume he was fired. Makes sense.

Talent goes where the money is...

Ok, lets believe all the PR we are spoonfed, especially with the other recent layoffs. Don't take out frustrations on me.

Unfortunate, but seriously.. lots of layoffs and people quiting their job at Sony.. Sony's financial issues must be really bad

That's sounding more and more likely. I liked The Last of Us a lot, but everyone has been fellating them to a ridiculous degree over it. Not hard to see it going to some people's heads.
