The MH17 plane disaster was mistaken for a Ukraine cargo/spy plane. It is a tragic case of mistaken identity. Ukraine rebels warned no plane to fly over their air space territory. It will be interesting to see how the Amerians/UN react to Russia over the MH17 distaster.

Yes, since the Soviet Union days Ukraine military was always sloppy. They even shot down a Russian civil plane (flying to Israel) before, I think it was 2003...

On Thursday, when a Malaysian Airlines plane was apparently shot down over Ukraine, a Ukrainian Buk anti-aircraft missile battery was operational in the region, the Russian Defense Ministry said, contradicting Kiev’s statements.

The battery was deployed at a site from which it could have fired a missile at the airliner, the ministry said in a statement. It said radiation from the battery’s radar was detected by the Russian military.

“The Russian equipment detected throughout July 17 the activity of a Kupol radar, deployed as part of a Buk-M1 battery near Styla [a village some 30km south of Donetsk],” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said the radar could be providing tracking information to another battery deployed in the region, which was at a firing distance from the plane’s flight path.

Earlier Kiev said it could not have fired a missile at the passing civilian plane because it had no Buk missile launchers deployed in the region. At the same time the Ukrainians said the militias had no Buk systems in their hands, according to a statement from the country’s Prosecutor General.

we will never know, putin would only live up to it if it would benefit him in some way, this is bad pr so of course it will be denial. plus its not just any soldier on the prorussian side, its commandos, special forces, basically guys with skills to pull shit off like this and have deniable plausability. im so glad i get to rasie my children in a world with another cold war bc of some assholes desire to relive the "good old days" when they werent at all. I cant wait for the nuke drills in the future.

Any proof on that? Maybe we'll just wait for an investigation and results of chtcking of black boxes of fallen plane?

I didn't say everyone of them is like that. My ex bf is russian, but the majority certainly is this way. And this happening elsewhere doesn't excuse it happening there, now does it? Unless you view Russia and Uganda with the same eyes.

You said the population is quite bad which is a gross generalisation in itself, you didnt exclude anyone

just so you know, The USA has a higher alcohol consumption rate per capita than Russia, Countries such as German, Belgium, Iceland and even isreal, they have higher Rape rates, France and UK are actually more drug addicted countries than Russia, if you exclude Alcohol from Drugs, then Canada,USA and France have much higher drug use. For Skinheads (if I understand correct what that is) would be UK, France and Germany. But Russia does have it on homicides and aids... at least with in the developed countries.

u sure about homicides? must be close to the us numbers.

well, there are more homicides technically in the US than Russia, however since the US is almost double the population, if you look at it per capita, Russia is actually higher. Not greatly higher but it is higher. Homicides are still pretty bad in the US though.
