lol pretty much. Games don't sell PS4. PS4 sells PS4.

I am totally serious with that comment.

Is interesting how you reasong this stuff to yourself to make yourself feel better.

Its based on some solid factors....namely Killzone and Infamous were never drivers of hardware. This is bangwagon hopping at its finest.

No, 360 was bandwagon hoping due to it being out earlier and cheaper.. Ps4 is simpyl a mroe desireable product. People know the big games will come to ps4, Killzone and infamous are not all ps4 has, third party games move hardware, and people know naughty dog, SSm, and other studio swill release big games on Ps4. sony has built up brand recognition, it's earned.

Yeah but you are ignoring the merits that this infamous has, like been the best looking game out there right now, Infamous 1 & 2 didnt look ground braeking at all, also there is nothing else AAA out there for PS4.

So was the Wii. People aren't buying now when they are waiting for the games of the future to release....that just ain't smart. Might as well buy the console when the next Naughty Dog/SSM game releases and hopefully get a nice price cut in the meatime. It is due to PS4 being the "in" product and the latest trend. Bangwagon hopping.

Not that it matters to you guys. I mean despite the reasons, you are still reaping the benefits.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well its meta falls in line with its predesessors. The only difference is the graphical facelift that is inherent to being on the next generation of consoles. I would say that it benefitted all the more from PS4s high hardware sales and wasn't a direct contributer of it. Just a matter of being at the right place at the right time, during this PS4 buying frenzy.

Are you seriously comparing the Wii to the PS4? Come on man. It's very simple, PS4 is the better, more desirable console and offers a better value proposition, so it's selling more. If games were everything, the Wii U wouldn't be dying and the X1 would be selling better (though I personally find the games PS4 offers to be better, it's all subjective). Titanfall is good but it's not the end all be all. Some people don't even like FPS (I know, hard to believe, right?).

You can argue all you want, it won't change the facts.

You just described Nintendo fans justifying Wii sales last gen. It is comparable in that both are the latest trend and "in" and "cool" product. Again I base this on the only AAA games PS4 has (KZ and Infamous) were never hardware movers.

Offcourse it doesn't change the reality, and that is ok. Just wan't to pose an alternate view to those with a inflated superiority complex.

Because the Wii did offer a more desirable play method and a great value proposition to many people that would otherwise not have gamed. So that arugment is completely correct.

However, one look at games sales will tell you that the people the bought the Wii, are not the same ones buying the Ps4 (aka, third party games sell like crap on Wii, while on Ps4 they do better than X1).  So unless you think that people buying the X1 are also doing it because it's the "in" thing to do, you've no idea what you're talking about.

Use some common sense man.

I agree on your point about inFamous and KZ though I wouldn't say they didn't move any consoles at all. I've seen plenty of people waiting for inFamous before jumping in, so it clearly moved consoles. Unless you have some hard data, there's nothing to discuss here. Infamous came out and PS4 sold more that week. Was it supply? Yes. Was it Infamous? Maybe. It's pretty simple.

With that said, the Ps4 would be fine without inFamous, the X1 would be dead without Titanfall (and it's well on it's way back to irrelevance).

Well hard to argue this. I would say that KZ and Infamous did move some hardware, but I would still say the main driver is PS4 being the trendy "in" product right now, and there is nothing wrong with that. And I wouldn't call X1 going back to being irrelevant......I mean it ain't the WiiU.

I definitely agree, KZ and infamous aren't as big hardware sellers as say Titanfall or Mario. So we agree on that.

I still disagree on the main sales driver being the whole "in" thing. Yes, it no doubt has an effect, but I wouldn't say it's the main driver. The main driver is the price, value proposition, and great PR Sony's been doing.

It may have been a bit hyperbolic of me to say the X1 would be irrelevent, but I meant that it'll likely drop back to the 60kish range soon and flounder around down there until there's an actual price cut. I very much doubt MS can keep it above 100k now that the Titanfall boost is wavering.  It'll certainly be no Wii U (since the X1 can still be salvaged in NA and UK), but that's really not saying much.  The mere fact that a comparison between the Wii U and X1 isn't that far fetched really paints the picture.

Your argument falls apart as soon as you mention the wii. The Wii sold to a different market and on a fad that ahs since faded. The Ps4 and x1 go after the same user base and play a lot of the same software. Playstation has always been bigger WW then xbox, now xbox does not have the year head start and sony made a top notch console from an OS, software as well as hardware standpoint, that is showing. If anything was bandwagon hopping, it was the 360 last gen, this gen we are more back to normal where things normally stand.
