Forums - PC Discussion - What does Facebook buying Oculus Rift mean for PC gamers?

How do you feel about the acquisition?

RIP Oculus Rift 2012-2014 28 45.90%

Meh, people are over-reacting 15 24.59%

Morpheus is the last hope... 18 29.51%

Total:61

This is more than a little worrying. I'm sure Oculus Rift will still be released worldwide, but will it be tethered to Facebook? Like, will FB try to run its ecosystem on Oculus Rift to generate more ad money? Either way, I'm not sure how this could possibly be good news for PC gamers who were looking forward to VR.

It means that Facebook just took it to a whole new level of book in the face. xD

Yup. Some people payed $400 for them. Way to get burned.

Sighh, looks like we can add this to the list of failed Hardware Kickstarters

There goes my porn hub T_T

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I just got cold chills thinking about Facebook rendered in VR. I might come to hate puppies, kittens, and inspirational messages.

Well, I already hate the last one. Please don't take kittens away from me.

BOOOOO! What a waste.

Lets Play Farmville 2 and CityVille on Oculus Rift incoming...

Ouya and Oculus Rift. The hardware scene at Kickstarter may just completely die out now. No one wants to fund a project that's just gonna sell itself out to a big corporation.
