Wait, wait. This means Portal is technically coming to Android, right? That's crazy! Shield is starting to sound better and better. Now if only they released a "slim and light" version. While the current design looks comfy, it's a tad bit too bulky for a mobile, imo.

Probably locked to Shield.. which will be hacked within 5 minutes of release..

I'll give it around 30 seconds.

Although if it's been designed and optimized specifically for Tegra, I dunno how well it'll run on a Snapdragon or Exynos anyway. :S

That's basically how it works. Games run on your PC and are streamed to the Shield as a thin client.

So the fact that they felt it necessary to make a native port of Portal tells you something about how well the streaming feature must work.

Bring Portal to 3DS Valve.

And now you don't even need Nvidia Shield, just a recent android device

I don't trust 3rd party APKs, so I would love it if it came to Google Play and iOS store. Not sure why it's Shield exclusive....I'm sure it'll come to other app stores later

Shield exclusive because Nvidia paid for it to be ported over to showcase Tegra. They've been doing this for a while with mobile games like Shadowgun. Take a team with a nice looking game, provide them with some technical help to juice the shaders Only on Tegra™. Nvidia gets to make their hardware look superior (it's not, really) and the developer gets some technical expertise and some extra media attention.

Not a bad marketing scheme, really. Nice to see marketing money that gets something made instead of just making the target market feel inadequate.
