loved me2 , fallout3, skyrim but Dark souls will get my vote!
but here are some other rpgs worth mentioning and for every rpg should be playing!
Dragon's dogma dark arisen ( underrated in my opinion, so good in so many ways)
kingdoms of amalur ( amazing gameplay , one of the best in rpgs)
Demons souls ( almost as good as dark souls)
Dragon age origins ( a lot of content worth playing, recomend pc version)
and borderlands 2 which I think can be counted as an rpg!

FFXIII followed by Oblivion.

On the JRPG side of things you're missing Lost Odyessey, which really was tremendous - far better than the FF's of the gen I think.

Also other games in the Mass Effect trilogy.

The two Fable main series games were good. Sadly, they didn't reach the lofty heights envisioned for them.

Dark Souls. Although I'd pick Demon's Souls over it.

Six of those games deserve to be on the list. One needs to be on the worst JRPGs of the generation. Honestly can't pick one game. I mean you have masterpieces like Valkyria Chronicles, Lost Odyssey, Xenoblade, Mass Effect 1....I had a lot of fun with RPGs last gen.
