Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS4 hardware sales jump 106% on InFamous: Second Son launch

bigger than Titanfall on Xbone

The release of InFamous: Second Son has given PS4 hardware sales a big jump in the UK.

MCV has been told by a trusted retail source that sales of PS4 consoles jumped 106 per cent last week as exclusive title InFamous: Second Son debuted on Sony’s machine, jumping straight to No.1 in the process.

That’s a bigger jump than Xbox One enjoyed following the release of Titanfall – that saw sales of Microsoft’s machine jump 96 per cent.

InFamous today debuted at No.1 in the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

Also the week before inFamous PS4 had a 76% increase

crazy

Using VGC numbers from the 8th, and the 72% increase last week would put this weeks numbers at ~21.1k.

We seem to be getting slightly conflicting numbers, so i'd take all this with a pinch of salt for the moment. Would be pretty surprising if true though. You would have thought the X1 + £30 price cut + a free game would be more effective than the launch of infamous in the UK.

Thats what happens when you save up stock . I hope the increase is similar WW.

Well, it would have jumped even without Infamous if there just were enough units available... I'm sure some people bought the infamous bundle just because there was no other console available and they didn't even want infamous that bad. But I'll admit that that is purely speculation.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.
