Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you find it weird how fast some third developers are moving on to current gen only titles?

So?

No Way! Current gen for the win! 30 15.15%

It should be this fast! 57 28.79%

Goodbye last gen! 28 14.14%

It's a bit weird... 26 13.13%

hmmm 4 2.02%

No, it's normal 44 22.22%

unsure 9 4.55%

Total:198

I didn't think developers would be this fast in moving on to current gen consoles only. It hasn't even been a year yet. So, what do you think of this? Here are a few examples

The Witcher 3-PS4,Xbone,PC

AC Unity-PS4,Xbone,PC-this one is especially suprising even if there is a rumoured last gen version.

Batman Arkham Knight-PS4,Xbone, PC

The Division-PS4,Xbone,PC

You call this fast?

Cross-generational titles were a rare thing in the past. Now, we see lots of them.

Batman had a current-gen (im gonna refer to PS3/360 as current gen) game out last christmas. Ubi soft, is believed to have a current gen AC coming aswell.

With that said, from a strategic point of view its good to carve a space early on. The beggining of a new gen is a time for opportunity (because of the droughts).

One game you dont have there is by CI games called Lords of the Fallen (Dark Souls like game). Coming to X1/PS4/PC this year.

I think it's awesome. The last thing I want to see is a game i'm interested in also on previous consoles after I bought a new console.

I'm actually shocked more devs are releasing last gen ports. I could be wrong but I don't remember this happening before. When PS2 launched, we didn't see a port of say, MGS2 on PS1. We didn't get Gears Of War on the first Xbox etc.

Maybe it's a sign that next gen hardware isn't nearly the leap it use to be.

By the time those come out it would have been a year.

It's a good thing; the 7th gen overstayed its welcome, the 8th coming into its own is well overdue.

Wow, never heard of this game. Weird, since it's dark souls like. Never heard of ci games either. Did this originate from kickstarter or something?

No because I think they been wanting to move to new hardware for a while now. And personality I like it because l am done with last gen completely now, it lasted for way too long.

CI games seems to be the same company that publishes the Sniper games.
