Rayman Legends was beautiful, fun, and the music was excellent. Also Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons was fantastic as well.

Persona 4 Golden, Valkyria Chronicles and/or Sakura Wars (the series in general, 5 to be specific).
Those games define my gaming experience over the last year, and shaped my taste in gaming. The only games that had an bigger impact on me were Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga (the whole series really), Paper Mario: The Thousand Year-Door and the Fire Emblem series (Sacred Stones specifically). These are the games that blew me away since I started gaming in 2004.

Dragons Dogma
When it was originally released I came close to getting it but with the lack of 4 player co-op I decide d I’d wait until a new monster hunter. Then I Picked up the vanilla version late last year in a bargain bin at Tesco for £5 on an impulse and have to say it was beyond incredible that pawn system more than makes up for the lake of co-op. that game is an incredible hybrid of elder scrolls and monster hunter that I was defiantly not expecting.
South Park. It was everything I'd dreamed a South Park RPG would be and then some.
MGSV GZ on PS4 on how fun and adictive it is, I play it everyday for 2 or 3 hours, it is amazing!
Walking Dead season 2.
I really have a ritual with this serie (Turning off the light, one episode per night and playing with my gf) and I think it really adds something to an already amazing experience.
It's not about graphics, nor gameplay, just feels. And that's awesome.
Hmmm... The Last of Us was extremely well done but there is only one game, just one game that has made me feel so blown away and that was... Final Fantasy XIV! I hope you feel the sarcasm.
Well I guess The Last of Us really blew me away. Im dont play many western made games so really didnt go into this game expecting my GOTY, made me cry so many times.
However in relation to your question if we go by higher standards, the next gen effect, it was FFXIII in 2011. It was my first HD experience and boy they didn't hold back on the beautiful in that game.
GT5 prologue.
I know its just a racing game.. and a prologue, but this was among my first PS3 games and my jaw dropped looking at the graphics.
Non-graphically, maybe uncharted 2. It was like like perfect balance between a game and a movie.
I still think uncharted 3 is better, but uncharted 2 was a bigger surprise and achievement for its time. After uncharted 2, everyone knew uncharted 3 was gonna be good so I enjoyed it but it didnt 'blow me away'
