Arkaign said: Wow, XB1 took a single week in it's strongest market, the US. Titanfall effect died. Roughly 2 to 1 worldwide behind, on the heels of the supposed GOTG. What's going to happen next week? MS needs $399 NOW. Not E3, not next month, NOW. |
Enough with the 2:1 worldwide.. First.. it isn't even true.. 3.9 Xbox One vs 6.3 PS4.. Not 2:1.. PS4 would need a MILLION consoles more to be 2:1... It is 1.62:1.
Second. Xbox One = 13 markets (not closed to worldwide release until 9/14).. PS4 = Over 50 markets and pretty much worlwide release. So the PS4 is in 4 times as many markets as the Xbox One.. Yet only has a 1.62 times sales advantage.. The Xbox One would only need sales of 64k in each market to be at 6.3 (If both were in 50 markets)... I do NOT think the Xbox One would do that.. But I do think it would be much competitve if their was launch parity. Maybe 5 vs 6.3 mil.
Both consoles are selling great. It is NO surprise the $100 less (and more powerful specs) is selling better. Microsoft has yet to show the real ability of the Kinect 2, but once they do and if they do keep this $50 price cut, I think sales will continue to be strong.
TWITCH has made people want cameras (this was unexpected). Sony has sold almost a MILLION of theirs and that is with stock issues. Now with the Xbox One having full TWITCH broadcasting, I think MORE people are happy the Kinect is included. At a $450 price the Xbox One is competitive enough (With a free game of some sort also)... No need to go to $399 until after 2014. Kinect Sports Rival seems to have some buzz building also, and I am sure the 6 month delay was to make sure this game was polished (if it's not.. this will be a BIG blow for Microsoft).. Again.. something else that makes that Kinect 2 have value..
