Their most remarkable feat was probably to create the 1st very good game on PS3 when all the others were struggling to create a decent game. They probably saved the console with their Uncharted franchise.

That is stretching it quite a lot.

Maybe. But let's say it transformed a semi-success into a big success. Especially Uncharted 2, it had such an impact on people's opinions about the PS3. All of sudden the PS3 had is marquee game, a game that would give to a lot of people not interested to buy a PS3 in the first place the desire to get one.

Uncharted 2's release did roughly coincide with the PS3 slim revision and the boom of 09 and onwards. So you have a point. It's total sales are at about 5million I think, and if you compare this to Gears of War for instance then you have a point.

But PS has always been about more than just one game. And while Uncharted contributed much to the PS3s success, I think there are many others worth mentioning.

Well I tried all of their franchises and yeah, most of them are very overrated. I always play the game and beat it before I can make an accurate assesment on the quality of the game.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

He really should have played them before calling them overrated.

Edit: And he is right about Uncharted. It is the epitome of desguising shallow/mediocre....some would even say bad gameplay and encounter design behind stunning visuals, setpieces and impressive production values. The only game in the series that was able to get away with it was the second one.

"All 1st party studios are overrated "is just not true though.

Yeah, if you haven't tried the game you shouldn't talk about it either really.

Now, I've played Uncharted 1 & 2, and I don't get all the hype to those games, but I wouldn't say that The Last of Us is overrated just because of that.

But I do get what he's saying about Kojima. All that man does is Metal Gear, so I don't understand the hype surrounding him. Granted, I haven't played any Metal Gear games (mostly because I can't stand that long cutscenes!!), so I wouldn't say he's overrated, only that I don't get the hype.

I agree I played Uncharted and was extremely disappointed. Not because I expected to much (I always play games expecting the worst so I wont get disappointed) but because I wasted way to much money on a meh game. (TombRaider 2012 was far better IMHO because it shows young Lara struggling and getting stronger etc. and not a goofy average joe sunny boy whos completely unsympathic) ... I also never liked Jak n Daxter either because of their characters and character design (imho Ratchet n Clank is waaaaaaaay better).

I really would like to play TheLastOfUs tho but because NaughtyDog is so overrated I wont be able to try the game before it drops to 20 bucks. (not going to waste more money on ND games. TLoU might change that but unless I play it I will stay sceptical)

Also dont get the Kojima hype. Actually I dont get any kind of hype because the hype starts before the game comes out and noone knows how it will end up like... Do people have glass balls?

@ Poll    yes everyone can determine if a game is overrated by just looking at how people hype it up. If people praise it as the best thing ever without giving examples on why it is better than something else then it is just overrated.
Stuff like COD is also totally overrated and noone can deny that.
Playing the game will just help you get a better understanding and give you details and information on HOW much overrated it is.

hahahahahahahahahahahahhahhahha that took 5 mins in the game to accomplish after her"shocking" reaction to killing her first person to then a total killing rampage driving a climbing axe into peoples head etc ! ha i would take drake's more realistic way of thinking and moving !

Please note Tomb Raider was a excellent game but your reason for sayin its better than uncharted is utter nonsense

Yeah, I didn't really expect anything from Uncharted either, what I DIDN'T expect at all was all the damn shooting. That caught me by surprise. It's more of an shooter than it's an adventure game. The controls aren't all that great either. I also enjoy the latest Tomb Raider a great deal more than any UC game; the protagonist feels more genuine, there's a greater mystery surrounding the main plot, it's not as linear, and above all, the controls are superior.

I'll try TLOU sooner or later; it shows a lot of promising, but I think I'll be expecting more of a shooter this time around.

I'm not too keen on games where you watch cut scenes for half the play time... That's not my cup of tea. I'd much rather watch a movie, which usually has a better story anyways.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

First of all its baiting threads like this that lower the level of these forums. I struggle to understand why you do this. Is it for the points?

Second, who cares about the opinion of some random guy on youtube and why should we care?

Third, i have finished "the last of us" and i think its overrated, or to be more precise, incomplete and unfocused. People still drop on me like hungry hienas because of it. Though i agree that if you havent played it its difficult to accept the criticism, perception is a vital component of every product, and it shouldnt be ignored, but factored in on the analisys.

Not when little big planet.. Uncharted.. Jak..infamous.. God of war.. And more are all first party ip

That Youtuber and his little loyal hive minded fans agreeing with him are what's wrong with this industry. Why morons still have a prejudice against games just because of who made them I'LL NEVER KNOW!
