I don't think LOS 1 did that much to help the cause. I played through LOS1 and have played a tiny bit of LOS2 and I'm not really that impressed with either game.

I used to love Castlevania! Definitely one of my favorite series, I even liked the original 3d game for the PS2. But ever since then something has been lost. The series just doesn't seem to have the same soul as the previous games. I still go back and play SOTN once in a while for fun (gotta love that damn crissaegrim!)

LOS2 didn't seem very good going by some reviews. I didn't really think much of it either when I saw gameplay. Just apathy from me really.

Castlevania never had great sales... it should have jumped on the bandwagon a few years ago to become more popular

I played the first one for an hour or two and didn't really like it. I'll finish it at some point, but yeah, not that excited for LOS2. Will probably wait for a £5 steam sale.

Hahaha. That would have been awesome. Girls would be all over it and guys would wanna beat the shit out of the poor guy. Even the actor hates the franchise, so I'm sure he'd accept to take part. 

Beat actually enjoyed the first one, then forgot about the franchise reboot all together. By the time this game hit, I had already lost interest in it. I didn't even bother with the reviews as the game itself was irrelevant to me. It isn't that it took so much time to come out as much as the fact that while the first one was okay in my eyes, it never really left that much of an impact for me. Same story with Darksiders II.

Very possibly. It's a pretty good looking game (has some technical shortcomings, but still impressive to look at), so it can't have been particularly cheap. Can be damn sure it didn't meet sales exceptions :P
