Screenshots.

Screenshots are your proof.

I know right.

This was my response to this thread:

Well, you sure convinced me with that evidence...

Can we stop throwing around the "8 Gigs of Ram" as if it's all going into games? There's numerous posts in this thread that keep saying "WELL IT'S 8 GIGS SO THERE". Reality is both the twins can only use 5 gigs of their ram for games.

Of course it can run on the WiiU. It wouldn't be of the same quality, but it could easily happen. The question is would the amount of people that choose to play it on that console (meaning they only have the WiiU) really be worth the hassle of porting it over.

Have you seen the water simulations and lighting in the trailer?

Would it look good on the Wii U? Im sure it would. Would it look as good? No. it would need more optimisation then you're assuming. By the logic of the situation, if the game is taking advantage of the PS4/XO specs, lots sacrifices are going to be made to made when you jumping from 5GB RAM, to 1GB. From 1.3 terraflops (Xbox One), to 0.3 (Wii U).... Its simple logic. If not visual sacrifice then it will be in the form of Ai/physics.

Of course Square could get the game running on the system, they could probably get it running on the PSVita too but it would look like crap. Ultimately they have no reason to put it on the Wii U, the performance would be worse, it wouldn't sell that much and it would probably be a costly port. Fact of the matter is, 90% of people who want this game is going to get a PS4 or XO for it.

Oh my god, this is even worse than the resolution wars.

In what way?

The whole "my console can run the games your console can" and "the hardware difference is such and such" is even older than HD res wars and refuses to die and it's such a tired argument, it was the same with the constant bickering between 360 and PS3 fans all through the 7th gen too. This particular OP is especially meaningless since we all know that FFXV won't come to the Wii U in any case.

Ah now I understand. Fanboys always need to justify their console preferance over another though it's a psycological issue were they see any insult of their console of choice as a personal attack on them, so this silly fighting and bickering isn't going to give up because there fight is more important to them then the actual games and just enjoying what they have

Yeah but the internet—forums in particular—has really pushed fanboy wars more. I don't know if it was this bad in the 90s or the early 2000s. The anominity of it really pushed the bickering and constant attacks on each other.

Part of me wants to lock this thread because graphics threads involving the Wii U NEVER end up well, but then again we can't ban them categorically.

Keep it clean in here, though.

I wouldn't mind.

Its strange, back in the 90s and 80s it was flipped around. At least in the US, Sega and Nintendo we're fighiting the console wars and fanboys didn't really exist back then.

"Blast Processing" was the original "X doesn't matter"/"Y has no games".

When Sega left, PS really didn't carry on the same level of pr battles. Sure they might have said some stupid things in interviews, but they didn't make ads equating the n64 to a slow moving van. Its was only really during the start of the 7th gen, that the console wars really reignited and but this time it was the fans who were fighting, and they were the predecessors of todays fanboys.

Even now, the things that people chatise PS for with the PS4 pr, like the Used Game scenario or small quips like the no DRM thing, we're nothing compared to Sega and Nintendo back in the day.

If you wanna play FF XV so bad; then get it on either PS4 or Xbone.
