I really liked Skyward Sword but I can't say which Zelda game is better or worse because everyone has something unique which makes it special. Not everything is good in Skyward Sword or in Ocarina of Time but they are really unique and in the same way traditional. That's it what a good Zelda game is about and both of them has this innovative and traditional experience... even Zelda II has it but less traditional^^

ATTENTION VGCHARTZ. See this man? This man UNDERSTANDS the Zelda series. You could learn a lot by listening to him. All you people trashing various Zelda games especially. No Zelda game has ever been bad. Each provides a different experience while still remaining true to Zelda. Some are less engaging to some people than others, that much is inevitable. No game is going to please everybody. But no (Nintendo made) Zelda game is universally hated by everyone, and that's because they're all good. Zelda is where Nintendo puts its whole soul into innovating. The Zelda series is the best example of what Nintendo is all about. Each game is definitely Zelda, but each game is a completely new experience. You won't like every experience equally, but that's more due to taste than anything. The really huge Zelda fans, the ones that play and enjoy all of them, are gamers that love new experiences and can appreciate any experience so long as it's done well, which Zelda always does. You could say we have the courage of an adventurous hero = D

Yes I agree 1000 percent. Plus the story was a little longer which made even more fun. Every time I thought the story would end it would keep going, sweet. Visually it was the best since OOT as well. There is reason why Nintendo only releases 2 every generation because they dont to destroy the game by over flooding the market every year, see COD, and Now Battlefiel. Nintendo works on making the game great.

It was definitely better than the borefest that was Twilight Princess. Twilight Princess was Ocarina of Time, but without the charm that made OoT an enjoyable game. Also, Twilight Princess didn't have Groose!

I thought it was the worst Zelda since Wind Waker.

You thought wrong.

Silly me, for thinking that sailing in a largely barren ocean and swimming chasing tad tones wasn't my idea of an entertaining Zelda game.

your not the only one, however i think Wind Waker is great!

Skyward sword is my least favorite Zelda in almost everyway. Other then ballad of the goddess, the sky loft theme or any reused songs, the music sucked. The gameplay mechanics and motion controls were not fun and didnt really add much for me, the lack of free roaming outside of skyloft was very dissapointing and the art design was very lacking(a very important asspect for me)It was all over the place with horrid creature designs. The only thing i really liked about the game was the story.....funny i would say that because i dont play zelda or any nintendo games for story/plot purposes.

I dont hate the game but i thought it was dissapointing.

Incredible storytelling, first in the timeline, a real Zelda in danger and a goddess warrior were some of the points that makes Skyward Sword one of the best in the series. In fact, it's the best one since the mythic Ocarina of Time.

Flooded by puzzles in and outside from the traditional dungeons, Skyward Sword defys the conventional puzzles that games like The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess had and feels like a dumbed version from their predecessors.

Despite Majora's Mask almost perfection, Skyward Sword adds a new interesting chapter to the story, unlike the mentioned Majora's Mask which was more like a spin-off.

Controls. Perfect. Use of Motion Plus was justified every time you had to balance on a rope or slash your sword. Graphically it was one of the best on the Wii and artistically a perfect mix from past entries.

A good villian like Ghirahim, a cruel Impa and epic boss fights make this game the best since Ocarina of Time.

Ok, if you have the time I suggest you watch these reviews.  I have yet to see a better and more accurate/non-baised review of each of the console zelda games.

Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, OoT 3D were all better than Skyward Sword. SS was just a linear fetch quest game with a rudimentary overworld, with a pretty art style and the Zelda name.

Majora's Mask was a full game of a side quest.

Wind Waker was as short as MM with a barren and useless ocean, but less epic, easy, and boring.

Twilight Princess was a dumbed down Ocarina of Time version, with a barren and useless overworld.

Ocarina of Time 3D is the same as Ocarina of Time, with the exception of a dumbed down final boss fight.

Everyone can go there.

All Zelda games have sidequests. It's one of the reasons they are so fun.

Wind Waker was a long game if you took your time to visit all the islands, which were in no way barren. Each had something to do or collect. Or are you referring to sailing? Sailing was an amazing feature, that, while time consuming, added to the great atmosphere of the game.

How was TP a dumbed down OoT? Because it had a similar graphics style and Epona? The game had a huge overworld (which I admit was a little barren, but still fun to explore). The soundtrack is the best Zelda's ever had, and Midna was actually likeable, unlike Fi or Navi.

Yes it is. And since OoT was better, the 3DS version (which included Master Quest) is by default also better.

I'll agree with you there. Everyone has their own opinions. Skyward Sword is by no means a bad game, just in my opinion it fails to match the quality of its predecessors. To each his own though, I won't slight you for liking a game that I don't like. I was just giving my two cents on it.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

The one thing I really liked about Skyward Sword was the return of the windfish, other than that I didn't much care for it. Particularly the difficulty as it felt severely dumbed down in order to accommodate the control scheme.
