Forums - Gaming Discussion - Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes getting a 73 on Meta.

First of all I am a massive MGS fan.  It is by far my favorite game series.  However it is getting a 73 on metacritic (As of 5am Eastern Time), and honestly I am not surprised or saddened.  This game was clearly a rushed glorified-demo that could have opened the floodgates for other big series to cash in by dividing their games in two.

I think this will spurn Kojima to work even harder to make the real MGSV the 10 I know it can be.  Your thoughts?

From the few sneak peaks of reviews I've read, it seems fair. Good game for a terrible price. I'm not sure I'll like this MGS approach though, seems very different from the previous entries.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Well just watching Ground Zeroes got me hyped for TPP, looking forward to it a lot more now.

According to Eurogamer it's better than Titanfall and as good as Dark Souls 2.
Sounds like a hit to me :)

A fantastic game in all but one category - length.

Eurogamer, the guys that gave Uncharted 3 an 8 because it was "too cinematic", and the ones that gave Gears of War 3 an 8 because it was "not very cinematic".

Seems then like they are the only ones who know where the creamy center between too cinematic and not cinematic enough is :)

I cant believe people are willing to pay the price for this, which seems like a glorified demo. Even the best estimates I have seen, where as to complete everything, takes about 5 hours.

I wont buy this, as I dont want to encourage other companies into thinking releasing stuff like this is acceptable practice.

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

It's probably good. or atleast as good as MGS4 (which I thought was easily the worst MGS, but still had good gameplay, when it was there).

They should have just bundled it with Castlevania or some other Konami game. Like they did with Zone of the enders and MGS2. Or DQVIII with FFXII.

It would boost the sales of Castlevania, while not coming off as a money grab with bad publicity.

It's 74 now. It looks to be the perfect definition of a mixed reaction. From what I've read the game is good, but it is too short and the price is too steep. So I'll probably just wait until it either comes to PS+ or is on sale for $15.
