EA owns the publishing rights, and they can sell those rights on if they wish. Respawn could try to buy themselves out of being published by either EA or whomever EA sells the rights to. But they wouldn't because they can't offer EA anough money, and whoever would buy the publishing rights off EA would not then sell those rights to Respawn for less.

Respawn owns publishing rights since it's their IP, they only sold the first game to EA via the EA partners program, and EA made the deal with MS. TitanFall 2 could be published by any publisher on earth, even Activision. Respawn owns the IP, not EA. And EA doesn't own Respawn.

It's pretty clear to me: Titanfall 2 will be on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Just to clarify, I'm a ps fan and I still don't want titanfall on the playstation. Or more specifically, I couldn't care if it does because I won't be playing it. However, let's not be stupid, one fan who doesn't care if titanfall comes to a playstation console doesn't accurately reflect the playstation consumer base, now does it? 

 

Anyway, from EA's perspective it would make sense to get the IP on the playstation consoles...only thing stopping it from happening is if MS give EA an offer they can't refuse...but I find that unlikely in any event.

I don't think they will do this sigma idea, just think they will get right into production of TF2. Though all depends on if MS decide to try and make it exclusive or not.

Also anyone else getting really annoyed by the titan fall adverts that keep popping up... sort it out please someone.

TitanFall will only be relevant for short time. As soon as Activision + Bungie do the next major showing of Destiny, all gamer attention will shift away from TitanFall and start looking at Destiny.

That is my prediction for 2014. Destiny will be the biggest sales success and it will be equally successful on all consoles (except Nintendo Wii U which will continue to suffer even after Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros U).

the contract seems like a clusterfuck anyway. This is EA if you dont think they arent going to do their damdnest to get Titanfall on PS4 at some point then you are wrong.
