It's good to see people liking this game. I loved, of course it has a lot of faults, but I like to replay from time to time.

It was better than Prime 3, in the sense that Prime 3 killed all chance of getting a Prime 1/2 like game in future with respect to motion controls, soundtrack and obtrusive story.

Other M was an OK to bad action game mislabelled as Metroid.

are you sure about that? the Prime series ended nicely and with a positive note meaning the chance of a future release of a game with the same gameplay style/another Prime game is higher, and the game ended up as the 3rd best selling entry in the Metroid franchise, while Other M somewhat underperformed and the backlash from the game may have given Nintendo the impression that people don't want Metroid which could doom the series to another hiatus.

Metroid Other M is one of the worst games I ever played, nothing good about that game except for the cool remix of Ridley's theme. Stick to First Person or 2D not a hybrid.

Seriously Nintendo could easily do a spin off of Metroid with the Federation and make it an FPS and boom Nintendos answer to Halo & Killzone and that way it wont alienate the Metroid fanbase. Dont know why its an easy way for them to get more core gamers and attract more western gamers. Donno why they havent done it.Mind you its mind boggling they still havent done a Pokemon MMO for consoles either.

I really don't like the game. Forgetting the story itself it's not close to being Team Ninja's best either, go play Ninja Gaiden Black for that. It's not as bad as Ninja Gaiden 3 but overall it's pretty mediocre.

Other M's sales were a desaster. Even without knowing the exact data - you can tell from the sales prices.

Nintendo games almost never drop in price - but Other M was heavily discounted after a few months...

It didn't help that at this point the Wii was cracked and the target audience might got an unlicensed copy. Red Steel 2 was also a game which might have suffered from this...

Gameplay wise Other M was "OK". I like the Prime series more, but the CG story telling was superb and a real bonus for those interested in Samus...

A Galactic Federation Warefare spin off actully sounds like a great idea.

.....Jokes aside, I heard from some people that the gameplay is actually GOOD. But I dunno, whiny bitch Samus or something pissed them off.
Worst thing is that I don't have my Wii anymore and I still have never tried the game even once.

I beg to differ, I found it awful.
Painfully obtuse, intrusive, and cloying storytelling, dodgy controls, some incredibly poor design choices like forcing you to walk through certain segments or find a single pixel to continue, stupid health system, (focus/no pickups) the list goes on and on.

About the only good thing about it is the graphics, which are among the most technically impressive on the system.

You know what? Screw the haters, I loved Other M! Sure, it's nothing compared to Super, Fusion, Prime, or Corruption. But it is infinitely better than Echoes. Hell, I even enjoyed the story for what it was. If they had just cut down on Samus' narration, I don't think as many people would be complaining about the game.

As for the Ridley scene, I had no issue with it. Mainly because this is the monster who killed and ate, yes ate, her parents when she was around four or five years old, right in front of her. I don't care who you are, that's bound to leave a few scars.
