SS was really good. Its not a sequel but the same game(added content) like how Bravely for the sequel was for the original Bravely Default

So the Knack Launch shipment is all gone and the Camera Bundle is all gone, and now were down to just the weekly shipment, so could be not sold out or they could of just got this weeks supply.

Unfortunately that seems unlikely to explain everything. The drops seem pretty regular, following trends from previous consoles, and there's no real games (aside from maybe one) which are worth upgrading to a PS4 in Japan to. 

Maybe a small, small portion is stock related, but there's something far more simple and believable to blame here: Japan isn't all that interested in the PS4 right now, and I don't think that surprises an awful lot of people. Sure we can see how things go in the long run, but for how long can we keep on blaming the stock I wonder?

It got it last because their is hardly any Japanese support (at the moment) for the console.  For the next months it has PS3 ports like MGS/Natural doctrine/FFXIV..     I need trestress because he has the Japanese releaselist but it looks very empty for the next 6 months.  I will be hopefully proved wrong because I am hungry for some JRPG on my PS4..      Would already be happy if I can play ps one JRPG's on it :s.

Yes, that is much worth notice. I remember people saying that "Nintendo owns Japan", but that's over (provided it's ever been a reality).

Iwata will have a hard time justifying his charts from now.


I've never believed that "Nintendo owns Japan."  I always felt it was a war between Sony and Nintendo.  Nintendo has the advantage in being the most popular handheld seller when Japan is heading towards being more handheld-centric.  

Also, combining PS3 & PS4 isn't really a fair comparison to the Wii U by itself when the PS4 is still relatively fresh in their market (regardless of the rather large drop-off).  

35k of the 47k is PS4.  

Also worth noting: Wii U is notably doing less in Japan than in the other regions.

Youkai Watch is a monster, that's all I can say. As a new IP, it's beating some very popular series on a weekly basis.

Vita is rising, just as I've been saying all along. It's getting nice software support in the future. I remember an argument I had last year with someone, where I said Vita third-party development would increase and they said it would all dry up and shift to the 3DS. All it needs now is for one of the cowardly big Japanese publishers to give it a major exclusive.

I'm not very worried about the PS4 for a similar reason. Japanese publishers are way, way behind western publishers when it comes to supporting new consoles. I think we're going to see them milk the PS3 for awhile, which will hurt the PS4. It's going to change gradually, though, and we'll see the PS4's situation improve as it builds exclusives.
