It's interesting to see those numbers grouped:

84k Sony combined
42k Nintendo combined

47k PS3 & PS4
7.7k Wii U

Yes, that is much worth notice. I remember people saying that "Nintendo owns Japan", but that's over (provided it's ever been a reality).

Iwata will have a hard time justifying his charts from now.

So it wasn't supply last week that limited to to 60k, dropping to 35k this week kinda proves that really. I wonder what the floor level will be?

Have we got a first 3 week comparison for other launches in Japan?

Vita gets a nice little boost for a week. Decent.

The rest meh.

I still don't find those Vita sales impressive at all, for the "handheld land" those are pretty low numbers compared to what the DS, PSP and 3DS last year were able to pull off. Higher that what the Vita used to sell? sure, but that still doesn't make those sales great.

PS4 is very low, although I prefer to wait 1 or 2 more months to see how things go.

Wii U catastrophic

3DS "meh"

Software sales pretty bad across the board.

I think that's it.

This isnt the 7th generation anymore, theyve well and truly moved on to smartphones which is why we will continue to see a decline in Japanese games that arent on mobile platforms. SQEX dont push out all their smartphone games for no reason.

pezus's bet is going to be a nail biter...

He's won it imo.

WiiU was an average of 12k~ a week in US last month. Europe will be under that, and Japan is 7k.

No way is it at 35k.

Clearly Sony have shipped more PS4s to America and Europe for the run up to Infamous and the bundles. We should see more consistent numbers mid April. Vita is getting more traction too.

And that's the way the it should be. No offense to Japan.

well, we have it at 39.4k for last week.  i believe that includes a modest DK bump so the question is how much does it drop?   it will be close.

looking at Software sales I disagree. Nintendo games sell very well + have really great legs. Also the fact that Sony has 5x more games released (due to great 3rd party support) and Nintendo 3DS already sold 15mil, its really not that big of deal

Whoa, did you forget about the weekly incremental boost from DK that will build through the year?!
