Are you having difficulties signing in to Xbox Live? We are currently engaged and our team is hard at work to get you back online. Thanks for your patience while we get this fixed. We'll update you again in 30 minutes."

300,000 servers at work!

You know all too well that developers have to ask for a certain amount of that pie. They estimate what is needed for their game, and MS rent/lend it to them.

Respawn most likely just didn't evaluate the need for the game properly.

That isn't how cloud servers are meant to work, what you describe is how regular dedicated servers work.

Then explain what you think having servers is supposed to achieve and how they work (cloud servers... servers... really, the cloud is basically whatever is on the server side instead of your machine. It's a buzzword used right now that basically mean nothing other than the effin' internet).

As major Nelson said, this isn't a Titanfall issue, it's just a HUGE coincidence.

Such a troubled launch. This won't generate good word of mouth about the game at all. Then again, they hyped it too much, which is why some expected too much.

Word of mouth from forum folk doesn't really matter. Just ask BF4 or CoD Ghosts.

It'll get good word of mouth in the real world because its fun. True story.

"Power of the cloud" is quickly becoming the most annoying phrase.

All it is, is bait.

And what do you think Teh Cell was all last gen? except, Ps3 users embrassed it and reverse baited people with it.

This is another reason I will never get an Xbox One.  EA is there primary third party developer.  I am holding myself back from going on a FPS for consoles vs the PC rant....  Short answer, stop supporting this garbage company.

You have 20 editions of Madden on previous gen consoles anyways, play one of those...  The way those sports games should be handled is, you should buy them once for a console generation, then pay a subscription fee to keep the roster up to date.  The whole time they should be releasing new patches to touch up the game however they can.

Why should poor behavior in the past justify this sort of "mud slinging" in the present?

So hypothetically speaking, for next gen if Sony is in the position MS, or Nintendo is in now, it would be ok for MS, or Nintendo fans to bait PS users? Since past actions justify present actions.

You can't ask questions like that from "mature" gamers? It's like so unfair.

Honestly, some of these bad apples give the whole fan base such a bad rep. Never ending nonsensical digs.

I find it sad how many people in this thread are saying "expected" and "it will be patched, no problem".

This is the biggest problem in the gaming industry. 90% of the consumers are willing to accept mediocrity.

EA have been called out on this numerous times with their online games. The Sims, Battlefield 4 and now Titanfall.

When people pay money for a brand new product they should expect it to work, not make excuses for a multi-million dollar company that is quite happy to shit all over its "fans" because they'll defend it through thick and thin through some kind of sick brand loyalty.

The differences between this and the other games you mentioned are #1 this isn't an EA or Respawn or Titanfall issue, this is simply an Xbox Live issue for some people. And #2 those other games experienced design flaws or in general just shitty maintenance. I don't know about you but I am a little more willing to forgive one company for some isolated connection issues on the launch of a gargantuan game than I am to forgive another company for a game like Battlefield 4 still being broken and glitchy over 100 days after release. Please don't even try to compare the two.

Furthermore this idea that we as gamers should demand games launch without connection issues for online play is laughable at best. It's a fairy tale and belongs up on some mantle alongside ending world hunger and achieving world peace. So long as you have multiple consoles running different versions of games and tons and tons of different routers and modems and Internet connection qualities you're going to have games launching where some people have issues connecting online. Yeah you're right I guess we can refuse to accept this, but the alternative is no more online play so no thanks.

This is again different than something like a Battlefield 4 which was an unfinished game and rushed to launch. Yes, that's something gamers should not accept. I, for example, have refused to buy BF4 and if I ever do, it will be used. Or take Twisted Metal for example. Had a MP demo with connection issues, we were told it would be fixed for launch, game ships out and the same issues are there and are never fully fixed. As a result, fuck Jaffe and any future game he works on. But that isn't the issue here, this is a Live issue affecting some people. Of course, we all know what happened the last time these Respawn guys released a MP shooter, it was MW2 and it was pretty buggy and was broken gameplay wise, not so much rushed glitch wise, so there is still plenty of chance that something ugly could rear its head.

But we live in a world now with advanced technology so lets fucking use it. If I can have a game 6+ months sooner but have to suffer through some small bugs that will be fixed, great. Beats waiting and being stuck with whatever bugs are on the disc.

Just because you are happy to pay money for broken and/or unfinished products, doesn't mean everybody else should just accept it and #dealwithit
