Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gamers cannot connect to Titanfall

"Power of the cloud" is quickly becoming the most annoying phrase.

All it is, is bait.

I find it sad how many people in this thread are saying "expected" and "it will be patched, no problem".

This is the biggest problem in the gaming industry. 90% of the consumers are willing to accept mediocrity.

EA have been called out on this numerous times with their online games. The Sims, Battlefield 4 and now Titanfall.

When people pay money for a brand new product they should expect it to work, not make excuses for a multi-million dollar company that is quite happy to shit all over its "fans" because they'll defend it through thick and thin through some kind of sick brand loyalty.

The differences between this and the other games you mentioned are #1 this isn't an EA or Respawn or Titanfall issue, this is simply an Xbox Live issue for some people. And #2 those other games experienced design flaws or in general just shitty maintenance. I don't know about you but I am a little more willing to forgive one company for some isolated connection issues on the launch of a gargantuan game than I am to forgive another company for a game like Battlefield 4 still being broken and glitchy over 100 days after release. Please don't even try to compare the two.

Furthermore this idea that we as gamers should demand games launch without connection issues for online play is laughable at best. It's a fairy tale and belongs up on some mantle alongside ending world hunger and achieving world peace. So long as you have multiple consoles running different versions of games and tons and tons of different routers and modems and Internet connection qualities you're going to have games launching where some people have issues connecting online. Yeah you're right I guess we can refuse to accept this, but the alternative is no more online play so no thanks.

This is again different than something like a Battlefield 4 which was an unfinished game and rushed to launch. Yes, that's something gamers should not accept. I, for example, have refused to buy BF4 and if I ever do, it will be used. Or take Twisted Metal for example. Had a MP demo with connection issues, we were told it would be fixed for launch, game ships out and the same issues are there and are never fully fixed. As a result, fuck Jaffe and any future game he works on. But that isn't the issue here, this is a Live issue affecting some people. Of course, we all know what happened the last time these Respawn guys released a MP shooter, it was MW2 and it was pretty buggy and was broken gameplay wise, not so much rushed glitch wise, so there is still plenty of chance that something ugly could rear its head.

But we live in a world now with advanced technology so lets fucking use it. If I can have a game 6+ months sooner but have to suffer through some small bugs that will be fixed, great. Beats waiting and being stuck with whatever bugs are on the disc.

Engadget posted the news too.

I agree with you since this game is online only. So, if the bugs are pretty irrevelant  irrelevant, it is ''ok'' to release it, and go patching SMALL giltches and bugs.

In a singleplayer only game, we should expect a finished product !

But for games like BF4 (wich is almost online only, since almost no one cares about the SP on that game), it is very bad. We gamers need to draw a line, or else we keep getting games even worser! That 50% of gamers wouldn't even be able to launch it. Wich is crazy! We need to expect a FULL product when buying such product. Or else it looks like a fraud to me ~

I loved BF series on the past, but this last one is barely playable! ''Rubberbanding for them lulz '' Is that what DICE is saying on their studios? No one knows.
