I've never understood the x/y/z/g thing from Famitsu...

It's four editors, each giving a score 1-10 (more like from 6-10, though).

So none of them has ever given a score lower than 5 to a game? I've heard of Famitsu's scoring before, but this is just odd.

Does Famitsu just get payed off by every publisher in Japan?

Yeah, they give some ridiculously high scores to the majority of Japanese titles. Review scores have lost almost all meaning for me through the 7th gen.

He is being sarcastic it is because Famitsu seems to give high score to some games... I guess it is more because the cultural difference... Japanese tastes are really weird for us.

There are scores below 5.

For example: FIFA 14 (PSP) – 7/7/6/5

or

Beijing 2008 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games (PS3, Sega): 3 / 4 / 4 / 3 – (14/40)
Beijing 2008 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games (Xbox 360, Sega): 4 / 5 / 4 / 3 – (16/40)

They give ridiculously high scores to the majority of western titles these days, to be fair.

OT: Lol.

Also, J-Stars; Mario Party & Samurai Warriors fail.  Namco; Nintendo & TK not been paying their advertising money.

They do, but it's pretty rare. Mostly happens to smaller games from obscure companies because, as they will admit, they are more forgiving to much hyped games for some $trange rea$on.

10/10/9/9 This means two think the game is good and the other two that it sucks. Or do I understand this system wrong?

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

In fairness most western games also have grossly inflated scores....

It's good to see that Ground Zeroes is getting a good review so far, despite being considered as a 2-hour demo by many. I really can't wait to play it.

Does this game has a strict embargo like the games released today?

No embargo but I guess Japan reviewers received the game before the western reviewers... I guess next week the reviews here will start to popup.

REVIEWS these days r only based on hype imo !!
