Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Price cuts, not Titanfall, will "save" the XBO.

Absolutely. MS needs the price cut. Titanfall will boost for a few weeks but it won't be enough. The expectations for it are borderline crazy.

It's obvious, TF is not going to do much for x1 after 1-2 weeks. Not going to have a gears impact.

I don't get the comparisons to Gears. TF is an MP only FPS, with mediocre graphics and fun gameplay. Gears, when it released, looked amazing, had some very innovative gameplay (imo), it had a great stroy mode, co-op, MP. Gears was, in my opinion, an actual revolution and most importantly it was exclusive to the 360 which at the time was cheaper, had a whole year head start, and was home to a ton of other third party exclusive and the better version of most mulitplats.

I'd say the situation is very, very different for TF on the X1, yet people still have these absurd expectations of Titanfall. I'll be playing it in 45 minutes and I didn't even have to spend  a single cent on an X1.

Agreed.. It needed to be mind-blowingly gorgeous to move a ton of systems.. Microsoft needs a game to show its power and try to minimize the impact of all these reports that its a weaker console.

Its going to take a lot of convincing to get people to buy a $500 dollar console, when you can get one more powerful and futureproof for $400. They just need to cut the price when its all said and done.

that's what I'm waiting for. I always wait for a pricecut on a secondary console.

Yup all that and yet the 360 is still virtually even with the ps3.

I find it interesting that the op put quotation marks over the word save, but I think that world needs to be changed all together. "help" might be a better choice words. If the aim is to sell more systems, gears helps, halo helps gta helps titanfall helps, nothing saves. For one, the console is still successful. if your gonna drop the price and take a loss per unit just to pull even with the competition I don't think that "helps" or "saves" anything.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

after seeing last gen with the ps3

its what now 1M ahead... even with the 360?

if nothing couldnt save the almighty PS3 then i dont see what MS can do with the XB1 i guess MS can afford to loss more $ than Sony they would have to price the XB1 50-100 less than whatever the PS4 is at that time to compete sales wise WW

the XB1 developed a bad image with there XB1 first with the drm stuff and then agean with the HW finally revealing that its weaker its very hard and impossible for the consumer to forget these things when making the 8th gen jump unless like i stated before the price being much cheaper with the majority of games being or becoming multi plat its hard for the average consumer to pay equal or more for the inferior HW

I read it all and there is really nothing I can add to what you say. I agree

I'm getting it on pc cause lack of single player game and resolution period.

I agree. One game will not decide the fate. Libraries and price are the main determining factors.
