Haha man I love that show! Did you see the original (much more vulgar) pilot-like (i think) youtube version?

He also voices this guy:

Is Adventure Time to original to Rick and Mordy?

Looks a bit too crazy and random for me.

No adventure time thing was just to point out that the voice actor was in there (my bad was a bit unclear on that   )

Here is the original rick & morty pilot with animation made by the guy who voiced them (warning extremely NSFW, and Im surprised they have not moved it from youtube and im glad that the show now changed and removed a few things shall we say http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbTlK3perdI

I love propaganda...

Wow!

Nice to see my article has gotten so much response.

Thanks guys it makes me feel happy inside.

So when do you think we will start seeing graphically intensive games like battlefield run at the same resolution and frame-rates on both?

That was disturbing........why did you make me watch that?

Are Rick and Mordy the guys from Back to the Future?

Haha, i think this video is badgenome's favourite it is quite disturbing.

Basically the guy who voices rick and morty came up with the idea of a back to the future parody (and added rule 34). He is somewhat known for making crude animation videos. Dan Harmon I think saw the video and wanted to work with him to create a show and so Rick & MOrty was born, but uh...  with 'minor' changes compared to the original video. But I am really glad that they left the whole ball licking thing out, and in my opinion the show is now very good and might become big (i hope).

Also sorry to have disturbed you to your core

Good thing they made those "minor" changes. Without them, this show was just really really gay.

Edited show is hilarious though.

In response to the resolution numbers you posted, I want to point out that in terms of pixels pushed every second 1280x720 at 60fps is 55.3 Mps vs 1920x1080 at 30fps = 62.2Mps ( if the frames rates are locked) whichs ends up being almost exactly a 12.5% increase in pixel count and not a superficial 200+%  pixel increase many people think they'll see by only a simple examintion of how many static pixels are on the screen - most people forget the importance of fps and how it affects the eye.

True Full HD is 1920x1080p x 60 (fps) - even Blu-ray movies are not True Full HD because the frames per second are only being rendered at 24p fps.

Fps = Frames per Second; Mps = Millions of pixels per second; p = progressive

I dunno about that, I took a chemistry course in school and one of the exam questions was to calculate the FPS human eyes can see at. Then do the same for wolves. Humans do make a distintion at 24FPS. We can see above 24FPS, but the difference is marginal.

Below 24 FPS, the screen flickers. (For wolves & dogs it's 60FPS, that's why they rarely watch tv, it's always flickering)

Flickering is an other and even worst problem. You would so much notice it at 24 FPS that any TV refresh at least 50 or 60 times a second and it's still visible. That's what  is 50Hz or 60hz on a television. On LCD it became better, but on CRT for your eye not being tired by flickering required 80 to 120hz. I think video projectors are at only 48hz with no visible flickering, but the room is dark. It really depends on technology, conditions, anyway there is no "24 fps" absolute value.

I think what you got as a course was just an over simplification or even a mistake. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flicker_%28screen%29

I'm telling you, as someone who's taken university level chemisty/bio, there is a 24 FPS value. Something to do with how our brain perceives data. I think what happens is below 24 FPS our eyes can percieve each individual frame, so below 24 FPS you see the switch in frames, and thus a flicker. Above 24 FPS you're no longer able to distinguish individual frames.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_rate

Wikipedia is claiming a 10-12 unique FPS rate for human eyes, but I recall calculating it at 24.

So a great example would be flashing blue & yellow light in alternate frames. 24FPS and lower, that's going to give you a seizure. 24FPS and higher, it's going to start to look green. We can see the extra frame, but our brain can't process it fast enough, so it mushes the two images together and makes green.

What wikipedia is stating is the number of frame you can individually process. Like you can tell if you saw your uncle in a serie of 12 pictures displayed in 1 second. You calculated something a long time ago, but please understand that you are not really clear yourself if it was flickering, percieved motion smoothness, or how many picture human being can distinguish... or even something else.

Wikipedia page doesn't say that the threshold is 24 or 12 fps for a human to consider a movie or game smooth, and consequently it doesn't tell you an higher rate would not be smoother. It doesn't tell also you will not feel lag if you have to wait 40 millisecond (24 fps) or 83 ms (12 fps) for your command to be drawn on screen. And that was your point, 24 fps is just good and enough. But that's just not the case, the higher the better, and 60 fps is not a mandatory but makes perfectly sense to get a lot better responsiveness and a smoother motion. It is noticeable, you do feel a lag if something takes 40 ms to display.

If you want honestly to know more about that, please read that : http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7199031187
