Not for me. Isn't true VR. Just 3d tv strapped to your head, since the player is stationary.

Read about that thing a while ago. But movement is still limited. Oculus as it stands would be great for racing games, Sims, some space games,  WoT, etc, because your stationary anyway. But for games like open world, shooters, etc, where the player/character requires movement/control (buttons) it's limited. The real immersion factor isn't there. I'll be long dead before the holodeck is invented.

nah!!

I'm interested in it, but not convinced.

It's like motion controls, or any other "novel" gameplay style. Somebody has to care about it beyond its gimmick appeal, or it will remain a gimmick.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

For me it has to be affordable and effectively implemented. As the poster above me said, I'm interested but those promoting their VR headsets have to convince me.

Why would anyone want to stand up and wave a controller around when they could just sit on their couch and press a button? No one's going to buy that.

In all fairness and honestly, while motion controls were neat for somethings, great for certian things (such as FPS and shooting in general), I have always preferred to play a game with a more conventional controller with buttons and sticks anyway. Which is why I was thrilled to learn that Wii U's main controller would be a normal controller, with an extra touch screen added on it. Fine by me. The point is, it's a regular controller. By that same token, at least personally, I'd rather just relax and play a game looking at a TV screen, not looking at a TV screen strapped to my head. I don't think there's anything all that terribly immersive about the concept, and I don't really need to be "immersed" in a game world anyway....I just need to play it and enjoy it.

VR just isn't for me.

It all comes down to software. The Oculus Rift and/or Sony VR headset NEED a killer app. For example, the Wiimote doesn't sell in the trillions if not for Wii Sports and Twilight Princess launching.

Basically the OR and/or Sony VR need a Wii Sports, and a couple of hardcore games as well.
