I have it since yesterday :) , amazing so far. no servers yet though.

I predict 80 - 85 meta. 93 - 97 in a perfect world.

Is it true to the Soul's experience?

I think that Dark Souls 2 will end up with around a mid to upper eighties metacritic score. On the positive side, From Software has a chance to work on the shortcomings of the first two games, but on the negative side, they have to beware of series stagnation, as critics often look for new or original gameplay experiences.

Demon's Souls was able to gain so many accolades because it was fresh at the time, but since this is sort of the third iteration for the series (not including its King's Field roots, of course), it's going to be much more difficult impressing critics, especially when the previous game was only released a few years ago.

Regardless, I've had this game on pre-order and have been purposely avoiding gameplay videos, trailers, and so on, so that I have no clue what to expect.

Critics are on the side of who pays them well, in most cases. Don't tell me CoD managed to achieve a string of great scores for being fresh and original. As long as a title has a huge fanbase and sells, critics will love it back.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Yes, the core is the same, definitely not " more accessible" than the first two games. at least so far.

It is actually harder to dodge enemies attack, it requires more precision, if you don't react before the attack you would not be able to dodge throw enemies weapons.

As always the mythology is good, and the environment around you "speaks". I have to admit though, I'm spoiled by PS4 graphics, The game looks average from the technical side.

Welp. Prepare to die a few more times...edition.

Granted, throw weapons from enemies were mostly a joke. Unless it was that thing with the toxic darts in blighttown.

Oh wait !! , I meant to say that you can not dodge through enemies weapons, any weapon.

Hmm.

I have a feeling that I'm gonna be fucked for a few hours. After more than 100 hours of rolling solving pretty much every problem... it could be difficult.

I am going to guess it will garner roughly around 88-90. Similar to Dark Souls 1. I think the downside will be visuals compared to other games out there but I think that will really be the main complaint....as long as their are no major Blighttown type issues or serious lag in Pvp/"jolly"Cooperation. I think most reviewers expect that the developers should have had enough time to smooth out anything in DS2 that could be comparable to blighttown in DS1. Also I think most will expect that PvP/Coop will be much better refined and more smooth. I know it should at least have all the elements that is Dark Souls (legendary difficulty, horrifying situations, heart pumping surprises, true hardcore RPG experience, compelling story, ect.), but I think it will take all of that and smooth out the rough edges that existed in the previous installments. So the bad= Visuals compared to other new game releases. The good= Smoothed gameplay and Coop compared to previous installments + more options, bigger world, and good interesting gameplay that looks and feels like Dark Souls should!

It seems the only big problem with the game is the visual downgrade from the early videos, other than that i expect reviewers to love it. I predict a 9 or 10/10 from gamespot if van ord reviews it.

Well....Thats interesting. Im sure I will find out when I begin playing but that makes me wonder...What would be the advantage of trying to quick roll dodge attacks (dex/agility style) VS Shield blocking (tanking it strength/poise style)? If a shield will block a strike with 100% damage protection then wouldn't it be a better option to go with a strength/poise build rather than a fast dex roll dodging build if you will still get hit when you try to roll a strike? I must be missing something here.
