Xbox One comes with free game on Newegg

Get an Xbox One and free game from Newegg for $500.

Online retailer Newegg is currently offering a free game with a purchase of an Xbox One, priced at $500.

You can choose between Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, NFL 25, Need for Speed: Rivals, NBA 2K14, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Just Dance 2014, and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Technically, you’ll be getting the biggest discount if you choose Battlefield 4, which Newegg sells for $53, compared to Call of Duty: Ghosts, which goes for $30. You can find this special offer on Newegg.com.

Of course, starting March 11, you’ll be able to buy the Xbox One Titanfall bundle for the same price.

Microsoft also recently announced a £30/$50 price cut for the Xbox One in the United Kingdom, but said it is not an indication that the newly launched system is struggling in the region or abroad. In January, Microsoft also offered a $100 discount if you “ditched” your PlayStation 3. Microsoft maintains that the Xbox One's launch has been a success, with over 3 million consoles sold in 2013 alone.

Last week, Sony announced the PlayStation 4 has sold more than 6 million units worldwide, following the machine's launch in Japan at the end of February.

Seen many places offering free games with X1, biggest was probably Walmart.

Ahh so finally USA is getting what everyone else has been getting for a while: a free game. But at least you're getting a broad choice. For the Europe regions it's been Fifa or nothing, though more recently Forza.

I wonder why they are all doing this. I don't think it was dictated by MS so what do they gain by selling it for a loss? Or did MS step in and payed some money so they could bundle free games?
