Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Will Xbox One overtake PS4 lifetime consoles Sales in North America?

I doubt it will do it this year. I honestly don't think Titanfall will turn out to be the system seller Microsoft hopes it will be. It will sell extremely as a product, but not as a system seller. I don't think we can predict who will win NA until true system sellers—that are exclusive—like Halo 5 and Uncharted release.

But the week after Infamous comes out which will also push consoles.

No question, PS4 is slowly losing momentum in the US while also becoming less and less desirable in its home country due to a major lack of compelling software.
Now expect inFamous to give the Playstation a small boost between 20-30000 additional consoles, I know TitanFall to give the Xbone a boost with around 5075,000 additional consoles sold upon its weekly average for 2-3 weeks.

For Microsoft's sake, they better do. Look at Xbox 360 vs PS3 in the US, I believe Xbox 360 won by 60%. US and maybe the UK are the only territories Microsoft can win. EU and especially Japan are highly unlikely..

We have limited data but it seems only around 10% of pre-orders of Tintanfall are with the bundle. Presumably 90% are existing owners. If we extend that then the number of new XB1 sales is not going to be that high, but it's anybody's guess right now.

Ya ps4 are not widely in demand  in America anymore it has fallen off preordered titanfall yesterday at gamestop and saw 5 ps4 right in the front area just begging for a home

I doubt it'll outsell the ps4 on Infamous week, but it definitely "can" fight back and overtake ps4s NA ltd. The generation is long, and the NA gap isn't so huge as to be insurmountable. We'll just have to see how MS(and Sony) play their cards.

Titan Fall noobs friendly FPS? Titan Fall could actually expend the FPS genre.

If Xbox One can establish itself as the FPS home for next-gen it as a good chance of catching up to Sony PS4 in North America. To date COD: Ghost and Battlefield 4 as sold more in NA on Xbox One consoles then PS4 despite PS4 having sold more consoles.

Xbox One as Titan Fall in March 11, 2014 and Halo 5 rumored for Holiday 2014.

Anything might happen but it is waaaay to early to even speculate how well X1 will do in NA after Titanfall.

Never. You can quote me on that.
