Forums - Gaming Discussion - Update: NOW ONLY $40...South Park: Stick of truth...... awesome!

South Park has hit it out of the park, not only is this game hilarious, the gameplay is awesome and adds something new to the RPG line up, which was very needed. I love RPG's but there hasn't been a big line up or many games that have sparked my interest. However this game has done a great job. Allowing you to block and attack with precision to make  your hits or blocks stronger.

Once you decide on a move, you then have to press a specific button at a right time to get a good hit or block.  The interactions are really well planned out and the amount of quests and items are great. There are many power up options and side quest to go on, I'm super serial, Manbearpig is real. The game is in your face vulgar and pushes the envolope. It ties in all sorts of characters and stories that everyone loves.

I have not finished the game but I am very impressed with it. I did not expect it to be this good.

The game right now is rating at a 82 on metacritic, that being said, it seems the only people to not give a it a good score or a low score are that of people who don't like the series or RPG's in general or are easily offened. To that I say, get a sense of humor... or if you don't like RPG's, don't rate them.

If you want to laugh really hard and love RPG's, this game is for you. However if  you are under age and your Parent are easily offended, don't buy this game or if you will anyway, You better hide it and not play it around the family. This game will offend Parents.

This game is easily going to be one of my favorite games of the year and I can only see it getting better. I can tell I will be playing through as different characters and set ups. My girl has jumped on and joined me, anyone that has grabbed it, at least in my group has been addicted to it. I have been working all week but once I was able to start playing. I have not been able to put it down.

What do you guys think of this game? If you have not picked it up, go get this game.

I concur. Fucking magnificient if you're a fan of the show, Knocks "The Simpsons Game" off of its perch as the best licensed cartoon game. Shits all over Family Guy, Futurama, etc. I love it.

DRAGONSHOUT!!

It feels a little like a south park best off. You see everything from mr hankey to lemmiwinks. But it doesn't add anything new to the series. The gameplay is fun at first but gets kinda boring towards the end, because it's always the same. It's also way too easy. Most of the time you get away with just mashing a single button. That's also why you rush pretty quick through the game. Even with sidequests, you shouldn't need more than about 10 hours.

The art style is great though, but I'm not too happy with the story. It's like the story of a single episode stretched into several hours. It also lacks the satirical aspect of the series most of the time.

Overall a pretty solid game, but nothing mind blowing imo. And yes, I am a South Park Fan since Day 1.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

I'm still waiting for my copy, but the main reason I'm getting it is cause every one is saying how good it is and obviously South Park being awesome

qft, would have already goten it on PS4

I am super hyped for this game, the show is pure genius. Gonna pick this up once it goes on sale since I'm already getting Infamous this month. I'm glad it is getting good reviews, it seems like a lot of thought went into it based on the interviews.
