Let me get this right, they are doing Kickstarter for a movie with 3 great actors which is a production of Macbeth.

... Okay so why can't any studio put funding up? They spend millions on bullcrap blockbusters yet can't be bothered to fund a quater of the million on Macbeth.

Hmm, pie.

I'm not a huge shakespeare fan myself, I have a hard time following the old English language.

However, the director states that he wants to make it more modern and up the action!

While I really like Kickstarter as a concept, this is starting to be a bit ridiculous:

"All money raised from this campaign will go towards taking the film into pre-production"

Honestly, IMO, if they can't get enough money otherwise for that, I don't see them ever making this.

I wondered that myself, but it appears no studio is going to back this project, so it is up to the audience.

Check out the teaser, it looks pretty great.

LOL! Good one.

I adore historical movies, especially the medieval times, but I can't stand the play drama and theatrical style of acting. That over-acting, it's just too much. It's so unnatural and so pretentious that I always want to vomit.

The Shakespeare stories, drama and dialog kinda suck too, I've never liked them in modern adaptions either.

I recommend giving them another try. Some of the best movies ever made have been adaptations of Shakespeare's plays.

Hamlet (1996)

Ran (1985)

Romeo and Juliet (1968)

Throne of Blood (1957)
