Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft angers early adopters by offering free ‘Forza 5'

Its a fuck over early adopters no matter what way you want to defend it. Not only that it shows how weak their product is if they doing that so fast. They have offered free stuff in the past have they not, to make up to adopters for cuts or something.

Its pathetic on there part from any angle, will be sending more people PS4 way. They could have easily announced some early adopter gratis program in anticipation of such a reaction if they had any smarts, but nahh more bad decisions on their part continuing their record setting pr fuck ups.

Because the OG xbox support was losing tons of money(sarcastically), might as well abandon trying to build a userbase with it. People are talking about the 3.5 million early adopters they burned, what about the 20 million plus Xbox owners who got shafted expecting a product with a reasonable life time.

So what if Sony was arrogant, with the PS3, Microsoft has always been arrogant with Xbox. The only reason people are noticing it now is because the competition is as far removed from their policies as possible.
Whenever Xbox fcks up something, rather than complaining about it, many fans would rather spin it on to competitors to try and equalize the playing field rather than demanding more from the company that objectively has more (money). How can MS even allow Sony to have any advantages?

Its like I'm watching a race and the PS has its hands tied behind its back and one shoe missing but is a couple of feet in front of Xbox who is built like Adonis, with Nintendo being the short geeky kid about 20 feet back and the commentators are looking at them and saying.
"Oh man, this race is close, both PS and Xbox are giving it there all! But Poor Nintendo!"

Except the origional XBox was in the red the entire 4 years. "People are talking about the 3.5 million early adopters they burned"......more like PS fans talking on Xbox fans behalf. Those 20 million Xbox owners got shaftered because PS2, plain and simple.

360 is in its 9th year and going on the same NA pricing for 5.5 years without a price cut. By contrast PS3 cut its price twice and by about $150 in the last 5 years, just to catch up. Case in point they can and will support their console if there is room to grow and be sustainable ie. when Sony isn't taking everything for themselves.

Just because MS can buy Sony 3 dozen times over, doesn't mean they should. You don't spend recklessly just because you can.

So PS+ is a slap in the face for everyone who has not subscribed to it? Some people really seem to search for something to moan about...

Not for people who buy physical games and can sell em off when they get a free version from PS+.

Ofcourse this situation is worse because remember, they are paying for XBL but still not getting any games.

Leave it to Sony fans to talk on behalf of Xbox fans. To make free AAA game giveaways seem like "bad decisions" and "PR fuck ups"

Early adopters had time with the console. Time is money. They enjoyed the X1 for a few months now and that is their reward. People now get a free game but by contrast had 0 play time with the X1 until they themselves buy it. Seems the only groups outraged are those who have no interest in the first place.

The benefits of losing :). Just watch while PS+ gets less and less awesome and PS4 free game bundles are few and far between. Sony was awesome when they were losing.....now I think these complaining threads are the result of your people not getting the same treatment when you were the losers. Now MS is more generous then Sony is with games......and this is your defense mechanism. lol

PS2 era. PS4 era now (hopefully it won't get as bad). PS3 didn't dominate like PS2 and therfore competition could thrive.

360 didn't dominate as Wii and PS3 were equally as successful. Try again.

I could buy a PS3 today and still have my views of PS and Sony. Ownership means nothing.

Doesn't address what I called you out on. Spinning MS giving away free games as bad, and the benefits of losing which Sony had last gen (and passed the deals onto you). With PS4 winning, I doubt Sony will be as generous as MS will be this gen.How you'd spin that as bad for MS,tells me all I need to know.

it is worrying when a console is cheaper, has more RAM, has better multiplatforms and still cant dominate isnt it?

Watch the PS4 demonstrate how the 360 should have killed off the PS3 (but ended up doing worse)

Try again.

Worse? More profit, gen over gen gains, and coasting on 2008 prices compared to PS3 price dropping $150 in the last 5 years, while also introducing their own gimped $200 model just to get to a "statistical tie". Ok buddy.

Getting off topic here. Point being MS can and does support their consoles when the environment allows them to be sustainable and thrive.
