MS should learn something from that approach. Make Kinect hard to come by and suddenly people will want to buy it for a premium.

I'm planning to get one. I have the Move controllers which are fully compatible with PS4, so I will be able to take advantage of any Move enabled game that might come out, including Move enabled PS3 games that come to PS Now.

And of course unlike DS3, the DS4 is a poor man's move controller, so with a decent install base developers will might see how they can used the light bar + camera for changing up gameplay a bit. But it'll still be a brave developer who makes a hardcore game with mandatory camera use, so most games will be camera / Move use as optional.

Nothing to do with "how hard it is to manufacture". 

Everything to do with manufacturing capacity (both final assembly and for sub-assemblies/components). 

Basically the same reason why Sony can't just increase the PS4 production rate at the snap of a finger.

If you didn't contract for additional assembly capacity, or sub-assembly component volume,

then those contractors will have contracted for some other unrelated client/job,

because waiting around with no work HOPING Sony might call to increase their order volume at a later time just isn't a viable business strategy.

Setting up manufacturing capacity for a specific product also may involve capitol investments that must be made before hand.

No surprise coming from a company that reprints Xenoblade and Metroid on Wii and opens the shrink wrap to sell them as "used" for $90 EBay prices, but won't match EBay prices when their $30 game is only $15 on EBay.

Pretty much done with Gamestop since they throw away PSP and DS cases now. I only went there to find obscure old games. I can buy brand new games everywhere for $59.99 or less anytime I want from anywhere.
