TLOU MOVIE :

yeah !
meh...
It was a awesome game, but please no movie
A bad movie would destroy the game

EXCLUSIVEScreen Gems has signed on to distribute The Last Of Us, a live-action adaptation of the PlayStation 3 vidgame from Naughty Dog. Neil Druckmann, the Creative Director for the game, will write the script. The creative architects will be Naughty Dog Co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra, as well as Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley. They’ll team with Sam Raimi and his Ghost House Pictures banner.

“Screen Gems’ Brian Dukes and Eric Ling brought this game to my attention insisting we go after it, and when I saw the quality of the storytelling, I knew the audience for this project was far greater than just the gaming community and that Neil Druckmann must write the screenplay,” Screen Gems PresidentClint Culpepper said.” I am thrilled that SCEA’s Riley Russell was able to get me in front of Neil and Evan Wells to plead my case. Sam and his team at Ghost House round out the perfect team to help realize Neil’s vision.”

Naughty Dog Co-president Wells called the combination of Screen Gems and Ghost House “a perfect fit. Since our game released last June, we’ve talked with many companies about making a film, but we couldn’t have found better partners who share our creative vision and high standards.”

The logline: Hardened survivor Joel teams with young and capable companion Ellie to journey through a radically transformed world some 20 years after an infectious pandemic ravages humanity. The game has won numerous awards and has been a big seller since its release last summer.

This could go well or terrible. Im leaning to the terrible side.

This doesn't need a movie, it already tells the story perfectly

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I really fail to see the point (well, besides to make money).

It was a great game with a brilliantly crafted story. I can only see the transition to film reducing the effect as it will have to be edited down severely and won't get same connection.

Im still waiting for the uncharted movie which im pretty sure they announced.

edit: btw I wonder what ellen page would say if she got offered the role.

Sam Raimi directing? Neil Druckmann writing? Ok I'm on board. All the elements are in place for a great video game film, now they just have to not fuck it up.

Had a bet with eFKac on whether or not Valve will be at Sony's E3: I lost.

its simple, they are most likely making a sequel to TLoU and this could be a perfect marketing tool.

FYI i dont want this to happen, i hope they never make the film.

Why always it has to be live-action, why? The only thing that might change my opinion is Druckmann involved... we'll see.
