Forums - Gaming Discussion - Watch_Dogs downgradeaton confirmed

It's a downgrade but it still looks pretty good, no need to picnic until reviews start coming in.

The trailer was confirmed to using PS4 footage.

I've just watched the trailer (link below for anyone who hasn't seen it), I think the OP gif is legit as it fits the trailer's quality from textures and all, alarm bells are now ringing, that gif was just one of the better parts of the trailer it seems.

lmao is this true? Damn, Ubisoft. Although doesn't look like PS2. I would say that's 7th gen version.

I'm very confused. Which gif is supposed to look worse, the one with the yellow car or the one with the red? And which is from E3 2012 and which is from March 2014? And what system is each clip taken from? Because to me the yellow car gif looks worse, but is the first gif shown, and the OP says "2012 vs 2014" so I can only assume that means yellow is from 2012, which would mean the 2014 is an improvement...

Yellow car is March 2014 running on PS4. Red car is E3 2012 running a PC that's about 70% more powerful than PS4.

Okay that makes a lot more sense. Yeah, that's quite a downgrade then. OP should have had the gifs seperated, side by side, and labeled. I guess we can't expect a console to keep up with a high end PC though, no matter how long it's in development. After seeing some actual gameplay trailers though, I'm thinking of getting the game. The gameplay is really innovative and highly polished. My only fear is that the platform with the higher playerbase will have an annoying amount of people trying to hack you all the time, so PC and Wii U have an odd advantage there as the platforms with the smallest playerbases (at least I would assume so).

i refust to beleieve this is from xbox one and ps4 versions

simple as..........

if on the other hand miracously it is nex gen footage then i simply wont buy it

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

I just want this game to release so people can stop hyping it, it looks crap, sounds like crap and the storyline is pure crap, and its like a fanfiction written by a guy from 4chan who thinks they're hackers.

The lighting effects are very much downgraded BTW, which is a shame but ah well.

It's not from the trailer. Unless I missed it. Can someone point me to the footage?

It's apparently from a livestream that Gamespot did today of the PS4 version. Because it's a livestream it's likely doubly compressed, from both the stream and the GIF process, so actual PS4 footage will look much better. But the new build is lacking alot apparently, the city streets look deserted in comparison to the older builds, the physics effects appear to be downgraded from the E3 2013 build (which itself was downgraded from the E3 2012 demo). Ubisoft has definitely made alot of compromises with this game, and I'm sure it's because it's cross-gen instead of next-gen only, big mistake on Ubisoft's part. Hopefully Watch Dogs 2, if it's made, will be next-gen only and look as good as the amazing original E3 2012 demo.

That's horrible news if true. It looked great when it was revealed at E3 2012 but I still expected even better grafix from Next gen. And so if it's a downgrade from that, I'll be hugely disoppointed.

Disappoiting as hell, much more after the delay. The latest trailer looked awesome and i was really hyped again, but after seeing that gameplay video (that bridge scene with the orange car is AWFUL) I lost all the hype for the game....

It's a shame, because this game was based in inmersion, and the original graphics looked like reality, but the latest material looks like PS3 with more resolution....I don't understand why so much downgrading, Infamous Second Son looks amazing and it's an open city too.

This game is going to be a financial failure, and we'll see soon after launch a lot of news about Ubisoft reporting bad results and firings.

Everybody loses....
