Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is getting both a PS4 and Xbox One worth it?

True greatness will only be achieved if you have both

Depends on your taste in games.

For me i prefer to get a Wii U as secondary system as it gets alot more exclusives. They also appeal to me more than Microsoft's ones.

I guess, if you have money to spare, sure, buy all of them. If you are in a tight budget, them, no.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

No. You can play most of Xbox's big game on PC, and you can only play 1st party Sony games on PlayStation.

Same thing with Nintendo!

So logically for everyone would be to have this gen is PS4 & WiiU

Not gonna talk facts about xBone cause somehow talking facts get you banned!  >_>

DON'T YOU SPEAK OF THE B WORD!

The way I see it Xbox One will get better multiplayer games/experiences. The best games on Sony consoles tend to be single player experience that will still be great 2-3 years down the road when the console will be cheaper. I don't think it's worth getting both consoles! Make your pick and stick to it.

Not if you plan to play online with both of them, but if one of them stays offline then you are okay if you really want to play X1 exclusives.

I bought both. And yes I think it was worth it. XB1 TV and sports integration is excellent and Titanfall. PS4, overall a better system and Sony's track record of unbeatable first party games I am willing to bet will continue. I like both of them. Both have pros and cons. Did you guys played Titanfall beta? It was f'n awesome. Last gen I liked PS3 more than 360 overall, but Trials, Fable, and Halo were excellent too.

Honestly, I cannot think of any generation where within the first year could justify both consoles.

I would say the following.

Primary console: First year or two
Secondary console: Third or fourth year after a price drop
Tertiary console: Fifth of sixth year after couple price drops

For example I got a PS4 in November, and am thinking of adding a Wii U in next year or so. After that will be content for a while, if the X1 really surprises me and makes games I have to get maybe buy that in 2018-2020 range.

Depends how much disposable income you have that isn't going towards saving up for education/car/house/wedding

By far the best reply as far as I'm concerned. It all comes down to your funds. Simple as that.

Nope - stick to the PS4. Save the money and put it towards a bigger game collection.
