Forums - Gaming Discussion - Batman: Arkham Knight announced for PS4, Xbox One & PC

Good to know it is a trilogy, now it makes even more sense that i didn't get Origins

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I was expecting it for next year. Amazed that it's actually coming this year, and next-gen exclusive. We're already seeing next-gen outselling current gen or doing as well (just look at Thief in the UK!) so by year's end this will be fully justified. Devs should have at least 20m to work with between PS4 and X1 (+ the PC audience) and that should grow to 25-30m before 2015 begins.

I already told you guys this! Shouldn't have been surprised lol

So no wii u version. Wii u is doomed ! One of the first 3party announcements of the year and They are already dropping the wii u support

I wonder what they were going for with Arkham Origins, then. Money, obviously, but if they had this in the works it seemed a bit silly to release such a supposedly rushed game merely a year before.

WB is to blame for that decision. Not Rocksteady.

Now since this game is being made for the new gen consoles, they were probably hard at work on a new or improved engine while Origins was being made.

Rocksteady are so talented. That Batmobile is cooler than anything from any of the movies. True artists. Of course, that was just a pre-rendered cut scene, but the game will be amazing for sure.

Yeah, I know.   I meant what WB were going for with it.  I know they're all about cashgrabs (*coughLEGO*) but they've had a good thing going with Rocksteady's Batman games and it just... doesn't really make a lot of sense to have slotted an extra one in like they did just for the sake of it.  Especially since it's been their series of constant, steady critical acclaim up until Origins (& Blackgate).

Interesting to see them skipping last gen, but more than anything, I'm glad to hear that this is the last one. As much as I loved Arkham Asylum, this series feels played out. Rocksteady's talents are needed elsewhere!

Indeed. You know what I would love from Rocksteady? A TMNT game. Imagine a 4 player online co op with improved melee from the Arkham games?  Not sure how they could do offline co op, but TMNT is getting a movie reboot, getting a game reboot from a competent developer would be amazing.

Yay rocksteady. I skipped origins because of that.

Yeah, I seem to remember that being rumored a while back. Too bad it turned out not to be true. They'd be a good choice for a TMNT game.
