Forums - Nintendo Discussion - FF 15 and KH3 makes more sense on Wii U than Xone

By checking FF 13,13-2 and 13-3 performance on X360, we can notice that even in the one territory where 360 had a much higher base (US), it sold less than it's ps3 counterparts. European numbers were MUCH higher on ps3 and japanese numbers were practically nonexistent for the 360. regarding FF 13-3, even europe was almost nonexistent too. 13-3 is also at only 200k WW and will be a long run untill it even reaches 300k.

The point is that the audience of nintendo consoles have a bigger acceptance regarding jrpgs, meaning a wii u version of FF 15 and KH3 should easily outsell an Xone version in the same way it happens on playstation: the US numbers would be at least on par, EU would be quite above and japan wouldn't even be a competition.

On another perspective, vgc US preorders have FF15 with 28k on ps4 and 9.5k on Xone. Wii U titles of smaller franchises had and are having a better performance than that.

KH was never on xbox but it already established a fanbase on nintendo platforms, meaning a similar proportion should occur on Wii U vs Xone.

Basically, it makes sub zero sense to release said games on Xone and not on Wii U. even though i think at least KH3 will get confirmed, it's stupid not to confirm it along the other versions.

It made a lot of sense when those games were announced (i.e., before Microsoft alienated a lot of gamers). These kinds of decisions are made well in advance, so much like with the EA-MS deal for Titanfall, Square-Enix was expecting the Xbone to once again be the market leader in the US/UK.

And from a technical standpoint, it is much easier to do a lateral port to the X1 than it is to do a downport to the Wii U.

It doesn't make sense to make those games for Wii U when the games would need to be greatly dumped down, technically, to work on that console. The porting process from one console to an other is much more straight forward from PS4 to XBO and vice versa, than it is from PS4 to Wii U.

I get your point about the audience. But the Wii U doesn't have a particularly deversified audience to begin with. It's struggling to sell even compared to the XBO. So nope. I think when it comes to how much work S-E have to put on the XBO version of the port compared to what they'd have to do for the Wii U will turn more profit for them.

Less work to port + similar user base

is better than:

More work to port + similar user base

Just get a ps4 or xbox one cause obviously you won't be playing anything with wii u

Those games would never sell better on the U. Porting the game over would also be a challenge for FFXV, perhaps not for KHIII. Not worth it.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I'm not so sure about that one

After teasing Nintendo gamers with Chain of Memories, the DS and 3DS games, you'd think Square Enix would at least release KH3 on Ps4, Xbox One AND WiiU. >_>

No it does not. Xbone sells more 3rd party software than WiiU could ever dream of.

Well the sales of the ff games one will always be lower on xbox then sony 2 the 3 ff games that xbox did get are probably three of the worst ff games.

As for kh I honestly wasnt expecting kt but I hope theres a video that explains what is going on with the story
