The people of Crimea voted for becoming independent from Rusia, and the majority decided that they wanted to be independent.

Some say that Russia has the rights to Crimea because of the fact that most of the population is Russian, but their voting results showed that they wanted to be part of Ukraine. Saying that Russia has the rights to Crimea is like saying that England has the rights to Australia, just because the majority decends from the English.

Politics in the Gaming board?

Eitherway, I've supported Crimea Independence before this crisis but not by force, democratic referendum. They identified as Russian more not Ukrainian, it's just when the USSR broke up, Crimea became part of Ukraine because at the time it was part of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.

But then Crimea isn't Russian depending on how far you go back, Crimean Tatars are it's natives are they not? So it's theirs.

Hmm, pie.

I am with Putin and anti NWO NATO and im from UK

They have more right to defend russian citizens from a far right kiev government than USA and EU have to remove Syrias legitimate leader.

If the temporary government of Ukraina is "far right", something that I don't agree with, then could you please tell me what is the Russian government with Putin?

Well... what we do know is that this is how it starts... lets hope it doesnt end the same way.

Anexation in the modern days is not done by military force, but by referendum. Thats what needs to happen.

As for the arguments that say that it used to be russia territory. Well... newsflash, all of Ukraine and neighboring countries used to be part of Russia (USSR, but we all know thats the same). Should we be okay with him anexing all of that aswell?

No, Russia is a Regional Great Power but lacks the ability to project power and infuence anywhere in the world.  Only the US is a true Super Power in the modern world.

I would say that any of the countries in UN's security council are super powers since they can basically end any voting in UN only with its vote.

You mean any of the 5 permanent members.  Still that doesn't make them a superpower.

Yea, exactly. When was the last time France was even a relevant super power? I feel they kept the French there just cuz they'll start crying and bitching like a little boy that didn't get the they he wanted from a store. They're better off staying quiet with their toy.
