Yea, when this game was shown off and announced I was hoping for a cool early stage game stuff, which is did deliver, combined with a Civilization game that rolled into what Stellaris turned out to be.

Yet the Civilization part and space part turned out to be duds.

I remember getting Spore on day 1, and I still play to this day. It might not be the ultimate evolution simulator people were expecting but it is still a solid game that I will continue to pour hours into. I would even love it if they made an expanded version of the game with even more content, but that doesnt seem likely

I remember Spore, never understood the hype/appeal for it. xP
