Depends on the story. The last game was rushed. If they actually focus on making a quality story to go with the gameplay it can work.

Swim God of War III sold 6 million plus copies (this site sucks at tracking this games sales) and I loved God of War: Ascension's MP really something different and it did pretty well despite everyone desperately wanting a God of War IV because of how strong God of War III's ending managed to be.
