Just cos you you didn't want a DK game doesn't mean other people didn't, gamers these days are to demanding just be happy with what you've got, if not sell your wiiu instead of complaining every two minutes

Have you looked at the sales? It's clear that I'm not alone.

I'd say the number one reason it's bombing is a problem that Nintendo has had for a few years now. Marketing.

Don't know about everywhere else, but I have seen absolutely no advertisements for the game in the UK. Doubt most people even know it exists.

Wii U's marketing in general has been disastrous.

I couldn't care less about the sales, it's not going to ruin my enjoyment of the game, I'm happy i got a DK game and a great DK game at that, as I'm a platform gamer, The game will keep selling over the coming weeks, this also doesn't include digital sales, we will get a Metroid in time, I think we will even see a Star Fox and F-Zero before the end of the consoles life.

I honestly think the Wii U userbase is already burnt out on platformers. Look at what released before it - New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U and Super Mario 3D World. Not only are these games readily available on the platform, but NSMB and NSL are both being bundled with the console already.

Add in that the Wii U userbase is only a shadow of what the Wii (and 3DS) userbase was when it got a DK game.

All together, you get a game that was never really guaranteed to sell all that well.

Something of note, for the people saying that a Metroid game would have done worse - Look at the Pikmin 3 numbers. Pikmin as a franchise has never really been big. Its far smaller than Donkey Kong, thats for sure. Despite this, Pikmin opened up to a combined ~225k worldwide. Guess what Donkey Kong opened to...

A combined ~196k

Thats right. Pikmin 3 actually had a larger Week 1 than Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on a worldwide basis.

How is the game bombing when it sold 200,000 copies in two days of being released ...it's not even a full week of sales ..some people just have a personal hate for nintendo lol smh .....this is sad when gamers look at two days worth of good sales and state that a game has bombed smh ...newsflash note everybody doesn't buy games on the first two days only lol

The problem is that there wasn't a lot of demand for it. Anyone could've told you that. No one was asking for a continuation to Donkey Kong Country Returns. People want new experiences from Nintendo. They're running dangerously close to running iconic franchises dry.

We will see other bombs as well. Mario and Zelda are safe, but Bayonetta 2? The first game had little demand and even Capcom didn't want to make a sequel, but Nintendo scooped it up. The game will fail horribly. Same with X. I know I'm speculating, but whoever is greenlighting these projects needs to be kept in check,

Capcom? o_O;

I got it digitally BTW, and I'm sure a good amount of other people did, I think Nintendo needs to release all copies sold numbers from the eShop for better data tracking, I mean why the hell not?
