Forums - Sony Discussion - Prediction: FFX haters will fall in love with it after HD remix is released

Probably the only game I'll buy this year. Outside of plus that is.

I enjoyed the original a lot, over 250 hours is my guess so it would be nice to get back into it again. Didn't like Tidus that much but the battle system, aeons, music, flow of the game made up for that big time. No hate for X over here, it's a good game no matter what.

Side-Topic: Why was Kimarhi so useless?

Cause he's a blue mage, and blue mages suck unless you eat the right monsters.

No, I hate this game and a HD release will not change that. I am a huge FF fan but FF X is the worst FF game currently created, only FF XV has the potential of being even worse.

The main problem with this game is the very slow, boring and broken combat system created by the FF Tactics guys. It has a large number of flaws, the biggest being that it is work instead of fun because it you do not play exactly as intended by the developers you will not get rewarded. I cannot remember all the details right now but you have to use every character in every battle in order to get experience points for everyone. Also the summons are useless compared to FF VII-XI, especially since only Yuna gets experience. And the battles are so slow and take ages. The game is also very linear, you always have to go from point A to point B through small corridors. I got so bored that I stopped playing after 40 hours, I just had no fun with this game at all.

By the way, my favorite FF games are: FF8 (just a perfect game), FF6 (best and most diverse characters ever), FF12 (gambits and story are great). My least favorite FF games are: FFX (slow and broken combat system), FF5 (job system is boring and work instead of fun), FFXV (it is another stupid Kingdom Hearts button mashing action game and unworthy of being called Final Fantasy).

Can I borrow your time machine please? Don't judge FF15 until at least having played it actually don't judge any game until having played them.

Indeed FF15 looks a lot like Kingdom Hearts but it still could be good. BTW FFX is my favorite.

Maybe it's just because I wasn't much for gaming forums at the time, but I've never gotten the sense that FFX is a particularly hated game.

It's because you weren't on forums. I remember being 10 and arguing with people on gameFAQs.

You got the internet way too early..

lol. I was an adept. Only went to gamefaqs and Final Fantasy forums. Used the internet to find more info about the new FFs as they were releasing. Started browsing/posting daily at 12. I have some pretty humilating posts if you can google.

I'll keep that in mind if I ever need ammo in the future..

I personally found it to be pretty mediocre. Though this is coming from someone who loves XII so what do I know, right?

Will probably still be supporting and buying it anyways in hopes of an HD release of 12 if all goes well.

No one ever tried to take advantage of you? I do remember some weird people asking me for cibersex when I was 12 and looming internet forums...crazy times those

XII got a perfect rating in Famitsu magazine, and I also really like it. But it took me 2 failed attempts to play the game until I realized that you really need to use the gambit system in order to get any fun out of the game.

If you like FF1-10, you will likely dislike FFXII at first because you do not know how to play it. But after playing Xenoblade Chronicles, you will suddenly begin to like it. FFXII has a very fast paced and dynamic combat system provided that you really familiarize yourself with the deep and complex gambit system. When being played on PC in HD, it can be really fun an there is also a fan translation for the Japan only Zodiac Job System version available.
