Don't know why people keep saying that free Titanfall is a pricecut. Haven't seen any Sony fanboys claiming the PS4 got a price cut because of all the free PS+ games. By that logic the PS4 will eventually cost negative money because of the cumulative number of free games with PS+.

You are.... deliberately misconstruing what is goign on. Sony was just giving away free PS+ games anyway. This is a way of reducing the cost of getting the console and the most desired game for it - a backdoor price cut so they don't have to say 'We cut the price $60 just five months after launch.' Saving face.

Heh heh... backdoor. But seriously, you can be a Sony fan and still be reasonable about understanding this move, can't you?

Titanfall bundle is effectively a 60$ price cut

No, sorry, terrible logic. Nothing against you personally but I hate this rational. It would only be effectively a $60 pricecut to everyone who was originally going to buy Titanfall as a download for full price with the console.

It's a nice bonus with the console, but it's definitely not the same as a $60 price cut. Not everyone wants Titanfall and even for the people who want it, not everyone wants to pay full price for it and not everyone who wants to pay full price for it, wants to pay full price for a digital copy.

This will only be the equivalent to a $60 saving for select people.

It's like someone claiming that the PS3 if effectively only £120 (down from £200) in the UK now because it is bundled with GT6 and TLOU which ignores the rational that many people who buy the console wont be interested in either/both games. It's not the same a pricecut.

It's business and a smart business move at this point in the game. I'm sure we will see 100 more of these articles by clear Sony fans. Just buy a xbox one already, obsessing about it in articles is nice but having it is better.

Chances of Halo 5 bundle?  Cause I definetly pick that up if my friends didn't have one by then.

You really think that? That MS only does this to not anger the early adopters? No one cares about the early adopters, not even the early adopters. By that logic everyone who bought an Xbox in Europe and didn't get free FIFA must be furious. Or ar you talking about the mainstream consumer who doesn't care about why a product gets a price cut?

They do this first to have a positive press buzz and second to push more potential buyers over the edge. Nothing wrong with that but it's rather a natural step than something exceptional or clever. They won't do this for coming games, let alone multiplats. It's a promotion for a game that is hyped anyway.

This would be great but I'm expecting after this move we will see a $100 pricebreak by the fall. In that case I don't think they will include a free game after.

It's not about their early adopters - more like their stock price and the public perception of them.

So who's the target for that "sneaky manuver" then?

The share holders who at first glance will see what's going on?

The mainstream consumer who would rather react to a real pricecut than just a bundle?

Titanfall bundle is effectively a 60$ price cut for the rest of the world and additional price cut for the UK, where the XB1 is floundering. Thus its cheaper than ps4+camera+60$ game and then cheaper than ps4+camera in the UK.
MS needs a kinect killer app to make it seem less burdensome, or assume a greater loss.
The ps4 isn't 100 dollars more powerful than the XB1.

No, they added more value. They didn't decrease the price. Hence, a brand new Xbox still cost the same every where except the UK.

We've seen Xbox 360 and PS3 bundled with games often, but that was never called a price cut.

I wouldn't be surprised if MS does a similar bundle with Kinect Sports Rivals.

These articles are stupid.

1) its a sale in one country.
2) XBone has bundled a game since launch.

The price cut is only in UK, but the free TitanFall is almost everywhere that matters. it's even in the US. So it's not a sale in just one country.

So you think MS can afford to have a quarter report with almost no shipped Xbox One and Xbox 360???

Bundling a new / big exclusive is not a big deal as these numerous threads are making out of it. Its something MS has done with just about every big Halo, Gears, etc game over the life of the 360. Its a sale.

This is different. Those bundles included the software and usually another controller for $100 more. This time is is the software include with no change in price except in the UK where the price is lower.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
