Forums - Microsoft Discussion - The Xbox One price cut is slightly insulting, desperate & utterly brilliant

I will add to that list. This is clearly the work of Sony fans. They are angry for us I guess.

Starting to think that only Sony fans are being outraged, pretending what they would feel if they bought one (sigh...), while actual early adopters enjoyed the time they had on the X1 and knew the risks of early adopting.

Because while this is great news, lashing out at the time of the price drop seems like their only logical action to spin it against us.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Some early adopters pay hundreds more than retail just to get the console. Those guys were not only slapped in the face, they were slapped in the face with a big cock.

Is this actually a joke?

A price cut is permanant, a sale is not. Doesn't have to be universal for it to be a price cut .. rofl.

Where did MS come out and say this was a permanent price for UK?

Its a sale... not a price cut. Clearing out initial stock. On to of that, people who got an Xbox day one also got a free game.

How is "was £429 now £399" not a price cut?

Do you not know what a sale is?

A price cut is universal. Not one country.

Do either of you not know what a sale is?

A sale is what Link looks for on Windfall Island so that the boat can sail for longer distances.

Buy Wii U, people!

And some of those that got cock slapped actually like big cock so ya know.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Pretty sure every buyer of the X1 in UK would be slightly peeved that they missed out on a better deal. I don't get why people are trying to argue against this...its only natural. What average console buyer actually cares about sales and market share?

Anyways, not a big deal, people would probably be pissed for like a minute and then happily go play on their new console.

Been saying this a lot but I will say it again...too many people on the chartz acting as if the console war is already over...this gen has only started! Bombs will be dropped, momentum will change, shits going down!

Can anyone point me to someone (a confirmed owner) who is "outraged"?

Early adopters get stiffed.

Always.

I myself could give a shit.

I've been using my XB1 for 3 months and have enjoyed it.  What difference does it make to me what someone else pays for it?  I've got it now and worrying about what the price is now is a waste of time.  All electronics prices go lower over time.  If they drop the Price of the XB1 now, or 6 months from now, what is the real difference?  Nothing.

Just my take...

same here.

same everywhere from the people i have spoken to.

Basically This.

This as well.

UK buyers, can you explain to me something. The price listed includes tax correct. So that is 399.99 with tax included within that price correct?

So why do articles always compared products to USA, where tax is never included in the price.

$499.99 + Tax

(I mean yes, you guys are still getting ripped off), but not as much as 100 pounds like every article seems to apply) (More like 40 pounds, if USA had European Tax Rates)

Yep the vast majority vasti tems in the UK are including VAT (IE total price). If it doesn't the retailer must state that the price is Ex-VAT. This is normally only done where self-employed people buy goods for their job and can claim that VAT back.

Sales happen all of the time. Heck, the Dreamcast dropped $100 in price AND Sega announced they were leaving the business one week after I bought mine. Didn't bother me. Not one bit.....13 years later and I don't even think about it every day while I curse Sony. No big deal.

I'm confused.  Are we giving a shit or are we not giving a shit?  Because I have this shit here and I need to know what to do with it.
