TL;DR: Nintendo was mean to third parties and gamers so they need to die.

That's not what is said. The OP doesn't tell anything about what must happen to them. And my personal opinion is that they just need to change their attitude for the better.

Well that's what I got from reading the text anyway just my personal TL;DR to help people get a grasp of the OP.

Did you read it all?

So someone takes the time to plot out some serious thought on paper, and share it with their fellow gamers....and the best response that you guys can muster is "tldr".

Sad really. To the original poster, great post. Well thought out, lots of information that's laid out pretty clearly, most of which is already pretty well known by most, but still informative non the less, to those that weren't aware of how Nintendo tends to handle their business.

Don't let the non-readers get ya down. It's post like these that we need more of, with actual substance, not just the dumb one-liners.

Check out my Gaming Website www.LiveLootLevel.com View my game blog, read some reviews, and leave a comment with your thoughts. Thanks for taking the time guys.

Must be terrible to know you put so much work into something that only 3 or 4 people will read. More power to you.

Now, I agree, Nintendo should be ashamed of their on-disc DLC practices or how they charge for access to their online network for gaming purposes. Wait. (Business is business.)

Zod95 took his time to write a detailed and researched thread for discussion.

If you don't have the time to actually read the thread and add to the discussion in a meaningful way, then don't bother posting (as the majority of these posts are glorified spam).

That's your warning everyone. Any more "TLDR!!!" or "Hur durr too long you hate nintendo!" posts will be moderated. Take your time, be respectful, and make great contributing posts... or don't pots at all. Thanks.

There will be blood.  You are now a marked man.

Seriously though, I didn't read it all because I don't have time before I leave for work, but what I did read and managed to skim was pretty interesting.  I'll try to read it all when I get home from work.

While I don't agree with everything, not entirely, I do agree that Nintendo has a history of being every bit as cut-throat and predatory as Sony or Microsoft.  Some people have a hard time understanding that because they think Mario and Kirby actually represent the company somehow but that's a rather childish perspective.

The fact that Nintendo does not invest in ways that could, and would, help their audience has always puzzled me.  They HAVE the resources to improve all the areas where they've fallen behind: account systems, online infrastructure, increased studio count, genre diversity; there really is no excuse for how behind Nintendo has dropped.  Microsoft is spending like crazy.  Sony is investing everything they've got.  Nintendo?  As much as they feel they need to invest and keep customers buying but very little more.

There are a LOT of places where real Nintendo fans need to be demanding improvements.

Most of it digs up rather ancient history.

As for the rest, Nintendo could certainly afford to be more ambitious (mostly in terms of talent acquisition), but not in the way you describe. Nintendo's gotta keep what makes them unique.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

1. Harming Gamers...... that is total BS, if I spend my money on a game that I like, whether it be from MS, Sony or Nintendo I don't care where the profit goes. I care about the quality of game that I am playing, I choose what games I buy because of quality and replay value

Ok, so if there is game A and B:

- Game A has, in your opinion, 7/10 in quality / replay value and the producer uses the profits to create another title, game C also with 7/10

- Game B has, in your opinion, 8/10 in quality / replay value and the producer keeps the money.

If you can only opt by one of them, you choose game B, right?

Where did you pull that from!?! Gamers have a debt? We owe nothing to ms.

Why do you think I used "" when writting "debt"?

Just scrolling through this mess it's easy to pint out the bias in this article. We get it, Nintendo and MS = bad for gamers.

You do know Sony has a ton of exclusives too. Great ones I might add. As a gamer, I only care for games, I buy all consoles because I LOVE video games. I don't care what people think about MS, Ninty or Sony. At the end of the day, I will play any good game on any system available. Nintendo, MS and Sony have provided me with tons of hours of great gaming and I will continue to support all three as long as they make consoles and games.

Ok, but not everybody can afford all the 3 platforms. For those people (by the way, the majority) exclusives are not a good thing. Sure Sony also has some. But the text doesn't deny it. The text tells you what Nintendo does further than others.

Omg!!! If I only knew Nintendo was gonna make money out of the games I play for hours and hours, I would never have bought any of them! I don't care about my enjoyment, as long as Nintendo doesn't get my money I will live peacefully...

I will say the attack on Nintendo for continuing to make platformers is laughable. New Super Mario Bros. sold 27 million copies, Nintendo will continue to make platformers as A.) their is a demand and B.) they have a reputation and experience in doing so.

It's like if McDonald's decided to stop making Hamburgers because, according to modern tastes, more people are eating Subs. Now, that may be the case.... but McDonald's is known as a hamburger restaurant and their are still millions of people who want hamburgers. Why should McDonald's, in that case, stop making burgers?

A lot of people justify their dislike with many different products this way. Same thing with Xbox being a "shooter box." If there is a market, and you have the expertise, you exploit it.

honestly,
this is the biggest BS ive ever read...i dont even know were to start...
best part is when it uses APB and MAG as a reference, i lol ed
