That's a nice way the new generation can see how overrated this game is.

I truly hope a Final Fantasy IX remake happens, because I want a new generation to experience how glorious and Godly that damn game is.

IX's story and characters are adorable.

Final fantasy 7 was really cool when i was 15 and liked edgy anime characters, giant swords and grim storylines. With all the cyberpunk jrpgs that have come after it, I feel like FF7 is pretty much a cliche of itself now and I just want Square to move on and make new, not bad games.

FF9 kind of sucked actually, it didn't do anything interesting like many other similar games from the playstation generation did. FF7, FF8, FFT, Xenogears, Chrono Cross, and Suikoden 2 are all way better games. FF7 easily one of the best of all time.

I'm not in the Nile. I, like anyone, know that FFIX is a better game/story than FFVII. But it's a favourite of mine because of sentimental reasons. That said, doing a remake would be awful for it, they'd ruin it. Infact they'd probably ruin 7, 8 and 9 if they did remakes. 6 should get the treatment.

FF7 was a good game and it still is. The soundtrack is beautiful and CG landscapes still have a haunting quality to them even if they are dated.

They should remake it for the 3DS with moderately improved graphics (nothing major), because I think remaking it in the style of Advent Children would suck a lot of the charm of the original away. Then they can port that version to iOS/Android (gotta make dat money) 8-12 months later.
